Operating Instructions

Connecting to Your Host Device

Connect the TESmart TBE-X5Max enclosure to your computer using the provided 80Gbps USB-C cable. Ensure your host device supports Thunderbolt 5/4/3, USB4 v2/USB4, or USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20Gbps) for optimal performance. The enclosure is designed to operate as if the SSD is installed directly in your computer, providing low-latency and high-speed transfers.

System Requirements

Disk Initialization

Upon first connection, your operating system may prompt you to initialize or format the new drive. Follow the on-screen instructions or use your OS's Disk Utility (e.g., Disk Management on Windows, Disk Utility on macOS) to format the SSD to your desired file system (e.g., APFS for macOS, NTFS for Windows) and create a partition map.

Performance

The TBE-X5Max supports up to 7000MB/s sequential read/write speeds with compatible PCIe 5.0 SSDs and Thunderbolt 5 hosts. Actual achievable speeds may vary based on the host device interface, cable quality, the performance of the installed SSD, and the system environment.
