Operating the Printer
Printing Labels
Once connected via your preferred method (mobile app or PC), you can initiate printing. The printer uses direct thermal technology, requiring no ink or toner.
- From Mobile App: Select a template, image, or PDF within the "RLabel" app, adjust print settings (density, copies, mirror), and tap "Print".
- From PC: Open your document (e.g., shipping label PDF), select the RP425 printer, confirm print settings, and click "Print".
Automatic Label Detection
The Rongta RP425 printer automatically detects and feeds labels, ensuring proper alignment and preventing crooked prints. After loading labels and closing the cover, the printer will feed a few labels to calibrate.
Multi-Device Connectivity
The RP425 can be connected to both a computer and a mobile phone simultaneously (up to 3 devices). However, it does not support simultaneous printing from multiple devices to avoid data conflicts. Print jobs should be sent one at a time.
Maintenance
To ensure consistent print quality and extend the life of your printer, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Cleaning Print Head & Roller: It is advised to clean the print head and roller weekly. Refer to the user manual for detailed cleaning instructions. This helps prevent print quality issues such as faded or blotchy labels.
- No Ink Cartridges: As a direct thermal printer, the RP425 does not use ink cartridges, significantly reducing maintenance and consumable costs.
Troubleshooting
- Printer Not Connecting: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the printer and your device. For PC, verify drivers are correctly installed. Restart both devices if issues persist.
- Poor Print Quality: Clean the print head and roller. Ensure you are using high-quality thermal labels. Adjust print density settings in the app or driver.
- Labels Not Feeding Correctly: Check that labels are loaded correctly with the printable side up and the paper guides are adjusted snugly to the label width.
- Bluetooth on Intel Mac: Note that Apple laptops with Intel chips do not support Bluetooth connection for this printer. Use a USB connection instead.
