Safety Information

  • Keep the sensor area clear of obstructions to ensure proper function.
  • Do not immerse the lid or electronic components in water. Clean with a damp cloth only.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly according to polarity markings.
  • Replace all batteries at the same time; do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental injury or misuse.
  • Do not force the lid open or closed manually when the sensor is active, as this may damage the mechanism.

Package Contents

Please verify that all components are present before assembly:

  • Sensor Lid Assembly
  • Stainless Steel Body Panels (typically 4 panels for split-assembly)
  • Base Unit
  • Bag Retainer Ring
  • Instruction Manual
  • Note: 4 AA batteries are required and not included.

Assembly Instructions

The HOMCOM Sensor Trash Can features a split-assembly design for easier setup. Follow these steps for proper assembly:

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Remove any protective plastic films from the stainless steel panels before proceeding.
  2. Assemble Body Panels: Connect the stainless steel body panels to form the main bin structure. Ensure the black rails that hold the wide metal sides together are used as part of the finished structure. Some bending and fiddling may be required to align everything correctly.
  3. Attach Base: Securely attach the assembled body panels to the base unit.
  4. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the sensor lid. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
  5. Place Lid: Carefully place the sensor lid assembly onto the top of the assembled bin body. Ensure it clips on properly for a sturdy fit.
  6. Insert Bag Retainer Ring: Place the bag retainer ring inside the top rim of the bin. This ring helps secure the trash bag in place and conceals the bag edges.
