6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your extractor hood.
6.1. Cleaning Aluminum Grease Filters
The 5-layer aluminum grease filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to prevent grease buildup and maintain suction efficiency.

Figure 6.1: Illustration of the 5-layer aluminum filter, designed to capture grease effectively.
- Turn off and unplug the hood from the power supply.
- Open the hood panel and release the filter latches. Carefully remove the aluminum filters.
- The filters are dishwasher-safe. Alternatively, wash them by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
- Re-install the filters, ensuring they are securely latched.
6.2. Replacing Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode)
If your hood is operating in recirculation mode, the carbon filters absorb odors and should be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on usage.

Figure 6.2: Carbon filters, essential for improving air quality in recirculation mode.
- Turn off and unplug the hood from the power supply.
- Remove the aluminum grease filters as described above.
- Locate the carbon filters (usually attached to the motor housing). Remove the old carbon filters by twisting or unlatching them.
- Install new carbon filters, ensuring they are securely in place.
- Re-install the aluminum grease filters.
6.3. Exterior Cleaning
Clean the exterior surfaces of the hood with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads that could damage the stainless steel or glass finish.
