Setup Guide

6.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Install Battery: Align the 2600mAh Li-ion battery with the battery compartment on the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely.
  2. Charge Battery: Connect the USB Type-C charging cable to the radio's Type-C port and to the provided power supply. Plug the power supply into a wall outlet. The radio can also be charged using a desktop docking charger (sold separately). The charging indicator on the display will show charging status.

6.2 Antenna Attachment

Screw the dual-band antenna clockwise onto the antenna connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

6.3 Initial Power On

Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click. The display will illuminate, indicating the radio is powered on. Adjust the knob to your desired volume level.

6.4 Bluetooth Wireless Programming

The RT-950 supports wireless programming via Bluetooth. Download the official Radtel programming application to your smartphone. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and the radio, then pair the devices through the application to configure settings and frequencies wirelessly.

Operating Instructions

7.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Rotate the Power/Volume knob.
  • Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Power/Volume knob after power-on.
  • Channel/Frequency Selection: Use the Channel/Frequency knob or the keypad to input frequencies or select channels.
  • Transmission (PTT): Press and hold the PTT A or PTT B button on the side of the radio to transmit. Release to receive.

7.2 Multi-Band Reception

The RT-950 can receive signals across multiple bands, including AM/FM, CB, SW, MW, and LW. Use the radio's menu system to switch between these reception modes and tune to desired frequencies.

7.3 NOAA Weather Alerts

To access NOAA weather channels, navigate to the NOAA weather alert function in the radio's menu. This feature provides real-time weather updates and alerts, enhancing safety during outdoor activities.

7.6 Wireless Frequency Copy

The wireless frequency copy feature enables quick duplication of frequency and CTCSS/DCS settings from another radio. This is performed via the Bluetooth programming application or directly through the radio's menu.

8.1 Cleaning
