Setup
1. Battery Installation
The Fenix PD26R ACE uses one ARB-L18-1600 rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. Ensure the battery is inserted with the positive (+) end facing towards the flashlight head.
2. Charging the Battery
To charge the flashlight, locate the hidden USB-C charging port. This port is revealed by twisting the section of the flashlight body directly opposite the side switch. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the flashlight and a power source. The battery indicator will show charging status.

A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours. The battery indicator light will change color and/or flash to indicate the remaining battery life:
- Solid Green: 100% - 85%
- Green Flash: 85% - 50%
- Solid Red: 50% - 25%
- Red Flash: 25% - 1% (Critical amount, recharge immediately)

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off (Tail Switch)
The tail switch controls the basic on/off function:
- Momentary On: Tap the tail switch.
- Constant On/Off: Fully press the tail switch until it clicks.
2. Mode Selection (Side Switch)
Once the flashlight is on, use the side switch to cycle through the various brightness levels and special modes (Strobe, SOS) available in the currently selected SET mode.
3. SET Mode (ACE Technology)
The Fenix PD26R ACE features three distinct SET modes, allowing you to customize the available light levels based on your needs. To change the SET mode, press the 'SET' button located near the head of the flashlight. The indicator lights (1, 3, 5) will show the currently active SET mode.

- Option 1 (Tactical Operation): Provides access to Turbo and Strobe modes for high-intensity situations.
- Option 2 (Security Duty): Offers Eco, Low, High, Turbo, and Strobe modes, suitable for patrols and security checks.
- Option 3 (Everyday Outdoor Activity): Includes all five brightness levels (Eco, Low, Medium, High, Turbo), plus Strobe and SOS, for versatile daily and outdoor use. This is the initial default setting.
Strobe mode can be turned off separately by holding down the SET button if it is not desired in any of the options.

Note: Turbo output is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism. Specifications are based on Fenix laboratory testing using one Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery under 21±3°C and 50%-80% humidity. Actual performance may vary.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the flashlight body and threads regularly with a soft cloth.
- Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the O-rings periodically to maintain water resistance.
- Battery Care: Remove the battery if the flashlight will not be used for an extended period. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Water Resistance: The flashlight is IP68 rated, meaning it is dustproof and submersible up to 2 meters for 30 minutes. Ensure O-rings are intact and properly seated before exposure to water.
Troubleshooting
If your Fenix PD26R ACE flashlight is not functioning correctly, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
- Flashlight does not turn on:
- Check if the battery is inserted correctly with the positive (+) end towards the head.
- Ensure the battery is charged.
- Tighten the tail cap securely.
- Intermittent operation or flickering:
- Clean the battery contacts and the flashlight's contact points with an alcohol swab.
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check for loose connections in the tail cap or head.
- Brightness decreases or mode changes unexpectedly:
- This may be due to the intelligent overheat protection. The flashlight will automatically downshift to a lower brightness level to prevent overheating. Allow the flashlight to cool down.
- Check the battery level; low battery can affect maximum output.
