Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The TECKNET MC-05 alarm system is designed for long-lasting performance, offering up to 8,000 hours of runtime on a single set of batteries. When the sound becomes weak or the unit stops working, it's time to replace the batteries.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Remove the old AAA batteries.
- Insert new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Regularly check the battery status to ensure continuous protection.
Troubleshooting
- Alarm not triggering or false alarms:
- Ensure the main alarm unit and magnetic strip are installed correctly, with the parallel arrows aligned and the gap between them less than 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) when the door/window is closed. Misalignment or too large a gap can prevent proper triggering.
- Check if the alarm is armed. The system will not trigger if it is disarmed.
- Alarm is weak or not sounding:
- Replace the batteries in the main alarm unit. Low battery power can result in a weak or non-functional alarm.
- Adjust the volume level using the "+/-" buttons on the side of the main unit.
- Remote control not working:
- Ensure the remote control batteries are functional.
- Verify that the remote is within the 60m/200ft operating range of the alarm unit.
- If attempting to arm the system while a door/window is not properly closed, the system will notify you that arming is not possible. Close all entry points before arming.
- Adhesive not holding:
- Ensure the installation surface was clean and dry before application.
- For rough or uneven surfaces, consider using additional adhesive or alternative mounting methods if necessary.
