1. Introduction

The Rokid Max AR Glasses offer an immersive visual experience with a 360-inch Micro-OLED display. Designed for comfort and versatility, these glasses provide a portable solution for entertainment, productivity, and gaming across various compatible devices. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Rokid Max AR Glasses.

3. Setup

1. Remove Protective Films: Before first use, carefully peel off all protective films from the lenses. There are films on the inner and outer surfaces of the lenses.
2. Connect Cable: Ensure the detachable USB-C cable is securely inserted into the glasses. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to your compatible device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, gaming console, etc.).
3. Wear Glasses: Place the Rokid Max AR Glasses on your face. Adjust the nose pads for a comfortable and stable fit.
4. Adjust Diopter: If the image appears blurry, use the diopter adjustment knobs located on the top of the glasses. Rotate the knobs until the display is clear and sharp for your vision. (Supports up to 600 degrees of nearsightedness correction; astigmatism users are not supported by this feature).
5. Install Rokid AR App (for AR Mode): For AR mode functionality and 3D spaces, download and install the official Rokid AR app from your device's app store. Ensure your device model supports AR mode.
6. Use Blackout Cover (Optional): For a fully immersive experience, attach the blackout cover to block out ambient light. Note that the blackout cover will completely shield your real surroundings, so use it in a safe environment.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Controls

• Brightness Buttons: Located on the right temple of the glasses, these buttons adjust the display brightness.
• Volume Buttons: Also on the right temple, these buttons control the audio volume.
• Diopter Knobs: Located on top of the glasses, these allow fine-tuning of focus for individual eyes.

4.2 Modes of Operation

• Screen Mirroring Mode: Your device's screen is mirrored directly onto the glasses, providing a massive virtual display for watching movies or browsing.
• AR Mode (via Rokid AR App): Access exclusive 3D spaces and augmented reality experiences through the Rokid AR app. Ensure your device is compatible.

6. Compatibility

The Rokid Max AR Glasses connect seamlessly with various devices via USB-C over Display Port, wireless adapter, or HDMI. No internal charging or batteries are required for the glasses themselves.

6.1 Direct USB-C Connectivity

Most Android phones that support DisplayPort and the entire iPhone 15/16 series and future Type-C models can directly connect to Rokid Max via USB-C.

6.2 Adapter-based Connectivity

• Wireless Adapter: For Android phones without Type-C/DisplayPort support, a wireless adapter can be used to cast the screen through apps supporting Chromecast/Miracast/DLNA.
• HDMI Adapter (Rokid Hub): Connects to devices like Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and most gaming consoles.

6.3 Device Examples

• Smartphones: Most Android phones (check DisplayPort support), iPhone 15/16 series.
• Tablets: All iPad models released since 2020, Samsung and Huawei tablet series since 2021.
• Computers: All laptops with USB-C ports (Mac), laptops without USB-C but with HDMI port (Windows via HDMI adapter).
• Gaming Consoles: Switch (via HDMI adapter), ROG Ally, Steam Deck (direct connection), PS5 (via HDMI adapter), Xbox Series X/S (via HDMI adapter).

8. Troubleshooting

• Blurry Image:
  • Ensure all protective films have been removed from the lenses.
  • Adjust the diopter knobs on top of the glasses until the image is clear.
• No Display:
  • Verify that the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the glasses and the source device.
  • Confirm that your source device is compatible and supports DisplayPort output via USB-C, or that the correct adapter (wireless/HDMI) is being used.
  • Check if the source device's display settings are configured to output to an external display.
• No Audio:
  • Adjust the volume using the buttons on the right temple of the glasses.
  • Check the audio output settings on your connected device to ensure audio is routed to the glasses.
• AR Mode Not Working:
  • Ensure the Rokid AR app is correctly installed and updated on your compatible device.
  • Verify that your device model is listed as compatible with AR mode.
