The Amaran Ray 120c is a compact and lightweight 120W RGB video light designed for various photography and video production scenarios. 3. Setup
3.1 Assembling the Light
Attach the Amaran Ace Lock to Baby Pin Adapter Grip to the light for mounting on a stand. The Amaran Octa Dome 30 can be quickly attached to the front of the light using its one-snap setup mechanism.

3.2 Powering the Device
The Amaran Ray 120c offers multiple power options:
- DC Power Adapter: Connect the included AC to DC 150W Power Adapter to the light and then to a wall outlet using the AC Power Cable.
- USB-C PD: For portable use, the light supports USB-C PD power banks and chargers.
- Amaran Ace E-Lock: Utilize the Amaran Peak via Ace E-Lock for a secure, cable-free setup, providing approximately 35 minutes of operation at 100% output.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Controls (FlowTurn Knob)
The Amaran Ray 120c features a FlowTurn knob for quick and precise adjustments. Rotate the knob for fine-tuning or spin it rapidly to accelerate through settings such as brightness, color temperature, and color modes.

4.2 App Control (NFC Pairing)
For advanced control, use the Amaran app. Pair your Amaran Ray 120c or multiple lights in the Ray family by tapping your NFC-enabled smartphone to the light, even before powering it on. The app allows for comprehensive control over all light functions.

4.3 Color Modes and OmniColor Engine
The Amaran Ray 120c features the OmniColor light engine, providing true-to-life color reproduction. It supports HSI (Hue, Saturation, Intensity) modes, RGB modes, and offers 360-degree full-color control. The CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) range is 1,800K-20,000K, with an expanded range for precise white balance adjustments.

4.4 Brightness Output
The Amaran Ray 120c delivers up to 6,850 lux at 1 meter without accessories. For increased output, optional accessories like the Mini Reflector or Mini Fresnel can be used.

4.5 Lighting Effects (FX)
The light includes 12 built-in lighting effects to enhance creative productions. These can be accessed and adjusted via the FlowTurn knob or the Amaran app.

4.6 Cooling System
The Amaran Ray 120c features a powerful cooling system with excellent noise control. It operates at a maximum noise level of ≤28dB at full power output at room temperature. Users can select between Silent Mode and Smart Mode for optimal performance and noise management.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Weather Resistance
The Amaran Ray 120c has an IP54 rating, indicating resistance to dust and splashes. This allows for operation in challenging environmental conditions such as wind, light rain, sand, or humidity. However, it is not waterproof and should not be submerged.

5.2 Cleaning and Storage
To clean the light, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. When not in use, store the light and its accessories in the provided portable bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
6. Troubleshooting
- Light not turning on: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the light and a working power outlet. If using battery power, check the battery level.
- App connectivity issues: Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the light. Ensure the Amaran app is updated to the latest version. Try re-pairing via NFC.
- Overheating: Ensure proper ventilation around the light. If operating at high power for extended periods, the light may reduce output to prevent overheating. Check the cooling mode settings.
- Inaccurate color: Perform a factory reset if color calibration seems off. Ensure the correct color mode (CCT, HSI, RGB) is selected for your needs.
