5. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials, including foam and adhesive tape. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.
  2. Placement: Choose a location with a firm, level floor, away from direct sunlight and heat sources (e.g., stove, heater). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Allow at least 4 inches of space between the back and sides of the freezer and any adjacent walls.
  3. Leveling: Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom of the freezer to ensure it is stable and level. This helps prevent vibrations and ensures proper door sealing.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the freezer with a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry thoroughly.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the freezer into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs. Allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle.
  6. Initial Cooling: After plugging in, set the thermostat to the coldest setting for 2-4 hours to allow the interior to reach the optimal freezing temperature before loading food.

6. Operating Instructions

Temperature Control

The freezer features a rotary thermostat control located inside the unit. The settings range from '1' (warmest) to '7' (coldest). Adjust the dial to your desired temperature. For optimal food preservation, a setting between '4' and '6' is generally recommended.

Loading Food

Once the freezer has reached its operating temperature, you can begin loading food. Distribute items evenly on the shelves to allow for proper air circulation. Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder efficient freezing.

Fast Freeze Function

For rapid freezing of fresh food, set the thermostat to the '7' (coldest) setting for a few hours before adding large quantities of unfrozen food. Return the thermostat to your regular setting once the food is frozen.

7. Maintenance

Manual Defrost

This freezer requires manual defrosting. Defrost when the frost layer on the interior walls reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. To defrost:

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Leave the freezer door open to allow frost to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  4. Once all frost has melted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  5. Plug the freezer back in and allow it to cool for 2-4 hours before returning food.

Cleaning

Regular cleaning helps maintain the efficiency and appearance of your freezer.

  • Clean the interior with a solution of baking soda and warm water (2 tablespoons baking soda to 1 quart water).
  • Clean the exterior with a mild detergent and warm water.
  • Ensure the door gasket is clean and free of debris to maintain a tight seal.
