1. Introduction

The Amaran Ray 60c is a compact and powerful RGB video light designed for various creative applications. 3. Setup

3.1 Attaching the Octa Dome 30 Softbox

The Amaran Octa Dome 30 softbox features a quick one-snap setup mechanism. Align the softbox with the Bowens Mount on the Ray 60c light unit and push until it locks into place. To collapse, press the release buttons and fold the softbox down.

3.2 Powering the Device

The Ray 60c offers multiple power options:

  • DC Power Adapter: Connect the included AC to DC 90W power adapter to the DC input port on the light unit and plug into a wall outlet.
  • USB-C PD: For portable power, connect a compatible USB-C PD power bank or charger to the USB-C port. Ensure the power source meets the wattage requirements for optimal performance.
  • Amaran Ace E-Lock: Utilize the Amaran Ace E-Lock system for cable-free power with compatible Amaran Peak batteries.

3.3 Mounting the Light

The Amaran Ray 60c can be mounted using its 1/4"-20 thread or the provided Amaran Ace Lock to Baby Pin Adapter Grip for attachment to light stands or tripods.

4. Operating the Amaran Ray 60c

4.1 On-board Controls

The light features a digital display and a FlowTurn knob for instant, effortless adjustments. Use the FlowTurn knob to fine-tune settings one step at a time or spin quickly to accelerate through options like CCT, HSI, RGB, and special effects.

4.2 App Control via NFC Pairing

For advanced control, use the Amaran app. Pair your Amaran Ray 60c or multiple lights in the Ray family with just a tap via built-in NFC, even before turning it on. The app allows for comprehensive control over CCT, HSI, RGB, and various lighting effects.

4.3 Color and Effects

The Amaran Ray 60c features an OmniColor light engine for true-to-life color reproduction, expanding red and blue ranges for a balanced spectrum. It offers a CCT range of 1,800K-20,000K and includes 12 built-in lighting effects such as Paparazzi, Fireworks, Fault Bulb, Lightning, TV, Pulsing, Strobe, Explosion, Party Lights, Fire, Welding, and Cop Car.

5. Maintenance

  • Fan Noise: The Ray 60c features a powerful cooling system with both Silent Mode and Smart Mode. In Silent Mode, fan noise is minimized, while Smart Mode optimizes cooling based on output.
