Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components listed in the "Product Overview" section are present.
  2. Wash Components: Wash both stainless steel chambers, the lid, and the spigot with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly to remove any manufacturing residues.
  3. Prepare Filters:
    • Submerge the carbon filter(s) in water for at least 15 minutes to allow them to fully saturate.
    • While submerged, gently scrub the exterior of the filters to remove any loose carbon dust.
    • Flush each filter under running water for 1-2 minutes to remove any remaining carbon fines.
  4. Install Spigot:
    • Insert the spigot stem through the hole in the lower chamber.
    • Place a washer on the inside of the chamber, then secure with the nut. Hand-tighten only to prevent damage. Ensure a snug fit to prevent leaks.
  5. Install Filters:
    • Place the upper chamber on top of the lower chamber.
    • Insert the threaded stem of the prepared carbon filter(s) through the holes in the bottom of the upper chamber.
    • Secure each filter with a wing nut from inside the upper chamber. Hand-tighten only.
  6. Initial Flush: Fill the upper chamber with water. Allow the water to filter through and discard the first two full batches of filtered water. This primes the filters and removes any residual carbon dust.

Operating Instructions

Using your PHOENIX GRAVITY water filter is a simple process:

  1. Fill the Upper Chamber: Pour untreated water into the upper chamber. Do not fill above the top of the filters.
  2. Allow Filtration: Gravity will draw the water through the filters into the lower chamber. The filtration rate is approximately 2.25 gallons per hour.
  3. Dispense Water: Once water has collected in the lower chamber, use the spigot to dispense purified water.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your filter system.

Cleaning the System

  • Periodically clean the stainless steel chambers and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  • For stubborn stains, a mild stainless steel cleaner can be used, followed by a thorough rinse.

Filter Replacement

The smart carbon filters have a lifespan of up to 2642 gallons or approximately 12 months, whichever comes first. Replace filters when you notice a decrease in filtration rate or a change in water taste/odor.

  1. Empty both chambers and remove the upper chamber.
  2. Unscrew the wing nuts from the bottom of the old filters and remove them.
  3. Dispose of old filters responsibly.
  4. Install new, pre-primed filters following steps 3 and 5 of the "Setup Instructions".
  5. Perform an initial flush with the new filters as described in step 6 of the "Setup Instructions".
