1. Product Overview

The Daytech WiFi Freezer and Room Thermometer is a versatile 2-in-1 temperature and humidity sensor designed for remote monitoring. It features both a built-in sensor for ambient room conditions and an external probe for monitoring temperatures in refrigerators, freezers, aquariums, wine cellars, and other specific environments. The device connects to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, allowing you to receive real-time data and alerts via the Smart Life mobile application.

  1. Open the back cover of the thermometer unit.
  2. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the back cover securely.

2.3 App Download and Account Creation

  1. Download the Smart Life app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

2.4 Device Pairing (WiFi Connection)

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.
  2. Open the Smart Life app and tap the '+' sign to add a new device.
  3. On the thermometer unit, open the back cover and press and hold the small black button for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator on the display starts blinking.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password to complete the binding process.

2.5 Device Placement

The thermometer unit can be attached to a metallic surface using its optional magnetic backing or affixed with the provided 3M adhesive tape. The external probe, with its 1-meter waterproof cable, can be placed inside a refrigerator, freezer, or other environment to monitor specific temperatures.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 On-Device Display

The thermometer's LCD screen displays the following information:

3.2 Smart Life App Features

The Smart Life app provides comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities:

3.3 Setting Alerts

Within the Smart Life app, navigate to the device settings to configure temperature and humidity alarm thresholds. You can set upper and lower limits for both the built-in sensor and the external probe. When the monitored values fall outside these ranges, the app will send instant notifications to your smartphone and/or email.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

When the Smart Life app indicates a low battery level, replace the two AAA batteries. The low power consumption design ensures a long battery life, typically at least two years.

4.2 Cleaning

Wipe the thermometer unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or immerse the main unit in water. The external probe is waterproof and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

4.3 Probe Care

Ensure the external probe's silicone head is intact and properly sealed if it is used in wet environments or liquids like fish tanks.
