3. Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the scale.
  2. Slide the battery cover open.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

Initial Power On

After installing the batteries, press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale. The display will light up and show "8888" briefly before settling at "0.00" or "0.000" in the default unit.

4. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • To turn on the scale, press the ON/OFF button.
  • To turn off the scale, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds, or wait for the automatic shut-off.

Unit Conversion

With the scale powered on and displaying "0.00", press the UNIT button repeatedly to cycle through the available weighing units: pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), and ounces (oz). Select your desired unit before weighing.

Weighing Procedure

  1. Hold the scale firmly by the handle in an upright position.
  2. Ensure the display shows "0.00" before attaching any item. If not, press the TARE button to zero the scale.
  3. Carefully attach the item you wish to weigh to the stainless steel hook.
  4. Keep the item steady and allow the reading to stabilize. The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.
  5. The scale features a quick lock function, which will hold the stable reading on the display.

Tare Function

The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or holding device, so you only measure the net weight of the contents.

  1. Turn on the scale and ensure it displays "0.00".
  2. Hang the empty container or holding device onto the hook.
  3. Wait for the weight to stabilize, then press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.00".
  4. Place the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will now show only the weight of the items.

Auto Shut-Off

To conserve battery life, the scale will automatically turn off after approximately 120 seconds of inactivity.

5. Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Ensure the scale is completely dry before storage.

Storage

  • Store the scale in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If the scale will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.

Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the LCD display, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.
