Muphyers 10X20FT Double Door Outdoor Dog Kennel User Manual

Model: DoubleDoor-10X20FT

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Muphyers 10X20FT Double Door Outdoor Dog Kennel. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new dog kennel. Please read these instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain them for future reference.

This outdoor kennel is designed to provide a secure and spacious enclosure for your dog, featuring a heavy-duty metal frame, double-door access, a convenient feeder door, and an all-weather roof for protection against the elements.

2. Safety Information

  • Adult Assembly Required: This product requires assembly by at least two adults.
  • Secure Placement: Ensure the kennel is assembled on a level, stable surface. Use the provided ground fixing spikes to anchor the kennel securely to prevent movement, especially in windy conditions.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all connections, bolts, and locks to ensure they remain tight and secure. Inspect the wire mesh for any damage that could compromise safety.
  • Weather Protection: While the roof is designed for all-weather protection, extreme weather conditions (heavy snow, strong winds) may require additional precautions or temporary removal of the roof cover to prevent damage to the kennel structure.
  • Supervision: Always supervise your pet, especially during initial use, to ensure they are comfortable and safe within the enclosure.
  • Proper Use: This kennel is intended for dogs and similar-sized animals. Do not use it for purposes other than its intended design.

4. Setup and Assembly Instructions

Assembly is best performed by two individuals. Follow the steps below carefully.

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Lay out all components on a clean, flat surface. Refer to the parts diagram (if included in your physical manual) to identify each piece.
  2. Assemble Base Frame: Connect the bottom frame sections using the provided clips and screws. Ensure all connections are snug but do not overtighten initially.
  3. Attach Wall Panels: Securely attach the vertical wall panels to the base frame using the designated clips and screws. Pay attention to the orientation of each panel.
  4. Install Door Panels: Integrate the double door panel and the feeder door panel into their respective positions within the wall structure. Ensure hinges operate smoothly and locks align correctly.
  5. Construct Roof Frame: Assemble the roof frame components according to the diagram. Lift and secure the assembled roof frame onto the top of the wall panels.
  6. Install Roof Cover: Drape the weatherproof roof cover over the roof frame. Use the awning connecting buckles to secure the cover tightly to the frame, ensuring proper tension for water runoff.
  7. Final Tightening and Securing: Once all components are in place, systematically tighten all screws and connections. Insert the ground fixing spikes into the designated holes at the base of the kennel and drive them into the ground for stability.

5. Operating Instructions

  • Main Double Doors: To open the main entrance, disengage both double locks and pull the doors outwards. To close, push the doors shut and engage both locks securely.
  • Feeder Door: The small feeder door allows for easy access to food and water bowls without fully opening the main doors. Simply unlatch the feeder door and swing it open. Ensure it is securely latched after use to prevent escape.
  • Security: Always ensure all doors are properly closed and both locks on the main entrance are engaged when your pet is inside the kennel.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Frame: The metal frame can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry to prevent rust. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Roof Cover: The polyester roof cover can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, it can be removed and hand-washed with mild detergent, then air-dried completely before re-installation.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check for any signs of wear, rust, or damage to the frame, mesh, or roof cover. Ensure all screws and connections remain tight. Replace any damaged parts immediately to maintain safety and structural integrity.
  • Winter Care: In areas with heavy snowfall, it is recommended to regularly clear snow from the roof to prevent excessive weight accumulation, which could damage the frame. Consider removing the roof cover during prolonged periods of severe winter weather if the kennel is not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Difficulty Assembling: Ensure all parts are correctly oriented according to the instructions. Do not fully tighten screws until all sections are loosely connected. If holes do not align, slightly loosen adjacent connections to allow for minor adjustments.
  • Doors Not Closing/Locking: Check for any obstructions in the door frame or hinges. Ensure the kennel is on a level surface, as uneven ground can cause the frame to twist, affecting door alignment. Verify that the locks are correctly installed and free of debris.
  • Roof Cover Sagging: Ensure the roof frame is correctly assembled and the cover is evenly stretched and securely fastened with all connecting buckles. Adjust tension as needed.
  • Kennel Instability: Confirm all frame connections are fully tightened. Ensure ground fixing spikes are properly installed and driven deep into the ground. If the ground is soft, consider additional anchoring methods.
