1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the AINAVI 12.3-inch Android Touchscreen for your Audi Q5. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and troubleshooting to ensure you get the most out of your new multimedia system. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use.

2. Vehicle Compatibility

This Android unit is exclusively designed for the Audi Q5 (2009-2017) with the original Audi Multimedia radio system. It is compatible with left-hand driving vehicles.

Important: Before purchasing or installing, please verify that your car has an "Audi Multimedia" CD amplifier system. This unit is NOT compatible with original "Audi Concert" or "Audi Symphony" systems.

4. Installation Guide

This section provides a general overview of the installation process. For a detailed visual guide, please refer to the official installation video below.

4.1. Pre-Installation Steps

  1. Use a tool to carefully pry off the faceplate of the original car radio.
  2. Disconnect the cable on the right side of the faceplate.
  3. Using a T20 screwdriver, remove the four screws securing the original display.
  4. Unplug the display screen connection cable. Hold the buckle and gently wiggle it left and right to disconnect.
  5. Remove the passenger side panel.
  6. Use an 8mm socket to remove the screw behind the passenger side panel.
  7. Use a special tool to pull out the original CD player.
  8. Unplug all cables connected to the back of the CD player.
  9. Use an 8mm socket to remove the screws inside the storage compartment.
  10. Remove the screws at the bottom of the storage compartment using an 8mm socket.
  11. Unplug the storage compartment connection cable.

4.2. Wiring and Connections

  1. Connect the main power cable to the adapter cable.
  2. Connect the other end of the adapter cable to the new head unit.
  3. Pass the main power harness from the main unit compartment into the radio compartment.
  4. Pass the two USB cables and one radio cable from the main unit compartment into the passenger compartment.
  5. Open the center speaker cover using a tool.
  6. Unscrew the two fixing screws and unplug the speaker connection cable.
  7. Pass the purple and cyan cables from the radio compartment.
  8. Connect the cyan cable to the original car cable and the purple cable to the speaker.
  9. Locate the specific cable and pass it from the main unit compartment into the passenger compartment.
  10. Connect this cable to the corresponding cable that was just passed through.
  11. Press the buckle and unplug the original car gateway plug, then plug in the adapter plug.
  12. Plug the other end of the adapter cable back into the original car gateway plug.
  13. Attach the GPS signal receiver and 4G antenna to the car, ensuring proper placement for optimal signal.
  14. Pass their extension cables into the radio compartment.
  15. Leave the USB cables outside for easy access.
  16. Pass the radio cable from the hole into the storage compartment.
  17. Connect the radio adapter cable.
  18. Plug the other end into the side radio port.
  19. Place the CD main unit cables into the storage compartment.
  20. Plug in the storage compartment interface.
  21. Cover the panel and use an 8mm socket to screw on the screws.
  22. Cover the side panel.
  23. Plug in the CD player plugs tightly and reinstall it. Note: If this CD player main unit is not plugged in tightly and installed correctly, the original car information will not be displayed.
  24. Use an 8mm socket to install the top screws of the storage compartment.
  25. Push the main unit into the main unit compartment.
  26. Locate the "LVDS" cable and connect it.
  27. Pass the five cables out of the iron cover plate.
  28. Pass the power interface from the right, and the other cables from the left.
  29. Screw on the four fixing screws. Note the direction of the iron cover plate: the protruding side facing outwards, and the double holes facing upwards.
  30. Take out the decorative cover plate and connect the hazard light connection cable. Connect the other end to the original car's hazard light interface. If your car has an original car hazard light. If there is no original car hazard light, you do not need to connect it.
  31. Pass the required cables out of the panel window.
  32. Install the buckles on the panel.
  33. Connect the 4G and GPS cables to the radio. The interfaces on the machine are labeled, be careful not to connect them incorrectly.
  34. Connect the power cable and LVDS cable to the machine.
  35. Align the limit holes and buckle down.
  36. Go to the top of the radio, open the two fixing screw holes, install the fixing screws, and close the screw holes.
