5. Installation

Installation of the VEVOR Automatic Chicken Coop Door is designed to be straightforward. Follow these steps:

6. Operating Instructions

The VEVOR Automatic Chicken Coop Door offers two operating modes: Timer Mode and Manual Mode.

6.1. Display Panel Overview

The large display panel shows the current time, open time, close time, and program settings. Buttons are provided for setting the time, adjusting open/close times, and manual operation.

6.2. Setting Current Time

To set the current time:

  1. Press and hold the SET button until the time display flashes.
  2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the hour.
  3. Press SET again to move to minutes, then adjust with UP and DOWN.
  4. Press SET to confirm and exit.

6.3. Timer Mode Configuration

To set automatic open and close times:

  1. Press the SET button once to enter open time setting. The 'OPEN' time will flash.
  2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the desired opening hour and minute.
  3. Press SET again to enter close time setting. The 'CLOSE' time will flash.
  4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the desired closing hour and minute.
  5. Press SET to confirm both settings. The door will now operate according to the programmed schedule.

6.4. Manual Mode Operation

To manually open or close the door:

  • Press the UP button to manually open the door.
  • Press the DOWN button to manually close the door.
  • The door will respond immediately to manual commands, overriding the timer settings temporarily.

6.5. Anti-Pinch System

The door is equipped with an anti-pinch safety system. If an obstruction is detected during closing, the door will automatically stop and reverse its movement within 3 seconds to prevent injury to poultry. After reversing, it will attempt to close again. If the obstruction persists, it will reverse again.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the door and its tracks to ensure smooth operation. Use a damp cloth to wipe down surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace all 3 AA batteries promptly. Ensure the device is powered off or in a safe state before replacing batteries.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the door for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure all screws are tight and the door moves freely.
  • Winter Operation: The door is designed to be waterproof and moisture-resistant. However, in extreme cold or icy conditions, ensure the door path is clear of ice and snow to prevent jamming.
