Model: T1 Pro

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and proper use of your SIMATE T1 Pro Kick Scooter. Please read it thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference. The SIMATE T1 Pro is designed for recreational use and short-distance commuting for individuals weighing up to 220 lbs.

2. Safety Information

  • Always wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads.
  • Ensure all clamps and fasteners are securely tightened before each ride.
  • Do not ride in wet conditions, on uneven surfaces, or at night without proper lighting.
  • Observe local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maximum weight capacity is 220 lbs (100 kg).
  • Adult supervision is recommended for younger riders.

3. Setup and Assembly

The SIMATE T1 Pro Kick Scooter comes largely pre-assembled. Follow these steps for final setup:

  1. Unfolding the Scooter:
Place the scooter on a flat surface. Locate the folding mechanism near the base of the handlebar stem. Release the locking lever and carefully unfold the scooter until the stem clicks into its upright position. Ensure the locking mechanism is fully engaged and secure.
  2. Attaching Handlebars:
Insert the handlebar grips into the T-bar. Ensure they are fully seated and the spring-loaded pins snap into place, securing the handlebars. Verify that the handlebars are firm and do not wobble.
  3. Adjusting Handlebar Height:
The handlebar height can be adjusted to three positions: 33 inches, 38 inches, and 42 inches. Loosen the quick-release clamp on the handlebar stem. Adjust the T-bar to the desired height, ensuring the locking pin engages in one of the pre-drilled holes. Tighten the quick-release clamp securely.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Riding the Scooter

Place one foot firmly on the deck of the scooter. Use your other foot to push off the ground, gaining momentum. Once moving, place both feet on the deck, one behind the other, or side-by-side if comfortable. Maintain balance and steer by gently leaning and turning the handlebars.

4.2 Braking

The SIMATE T1 Pro is equipped with a rear foot brake. To slow down or stop, gently press your heel down on the rear fender brake. Apply pressure gradually to avoid sudden stops. Practice braking at low speeds before riding faster.

4.3 Folding for Storage and Transport

To fold the scooter, ensure the handlebar is at its lowest setting. Locate the folding mechanism at the base of the stem. Release the locking lever and fold the handlebar stem down towards the deck until it locks into place. The compact design and lightweight aluminum frame (approximately 9 lbs) make it easy to carry with the included strap.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the scooter with a damp cloth after use. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Lubrication: Periodically check and lubricate moving parts such as the folding mechanism and wheel bearings if necessary.
  • Inspections: Regularly inspect the wheels, brakes, and all fasteners for wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten any loose bolts or nuts.
  • Storage: Store the scooter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent corrosion and material degradation.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Handlebar Wobble: If the handlebars feel loose, ensure the quick-release clamp is fully tightened and the locking pin is engaged in one of the height adjustment holes. Check the handlebar grips are fully inserted and secured.
  • Squeaky Wheels: This may indicate dirt or debris in the bearings. Clean the wheels and bearings. If the issue persists, consider replacing the bearings.
  • Brake Not Effective: Check the rear fender brake for any obstructions. Ensure the brake mechanism is clean and free of debris.
  • Difficulty Folding/Unfolding: Ensure the folding mechanism is clean and lubricated. Do not force the mechanism; check for any obstructions.
