3. Setup
3.1 Connecting the Keyboard Halves
The two halves of the Split70 keyboard connect via a short USB-C to USB-C interconnect cable. Plug one end into the USB-C port on the left half and the other end into the corresponding port on the right half. The halves can also be magnetically attached for a unified layout.

3.2 Wired Connection
- Ensure the keyboard halves are connected using the interconnect cable.
- Toggle the connectivity switch on the left keyboard half to the USB position.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Replacing Keycaps and Switches
The Split70 features hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. Always ensure the keyboard is disconnected before performing maintenance.
- Remove Keycaps: Use the included keycap puller to gently remove keycaps by pulling straight up.
- Remove Switches: Use the included switch puller to grip the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull straight up.
- Install Switches: Align the new 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switch with the hot-swap socket on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight and push the switch straight down until it clicks into place.
- Install Keycaps: Press the desired keycaps onto the new switches.

6.2 Battery Check
To check the current battery percentage, hold FN + B. The backlight will illuminate from 1 to 0 keys, indicating the battery percentage (e.g., 6 keys lit means 60%). To check charging status, press and hold FN + Space. A solid red FN indicator means charging, a green indicator means fully charged.
6.3 Wireless Sleep Mode
The backlight will turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity. Simply press any key to reactivate the lighting. The keyboard enters sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity, turning off the backlight and disconnecting from the device. Press any key to wake it up and reconnect.

- Connectivity Issues: Ensure the correct mode (wired, 2.4G, or Bluetooth) is selected via the switch on the left keyboard half. For 2.4G, ensure the receiver is securely plugged in. For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is paired to the correct device slot (FN+Q/W/E).
