1. Introduction and Overview

The RAVEMEN FR1000 is an innovative bike front light designed for enhanced visibility and convenience. It integrates a powerful front light with a cycle computer mount, optimizing handlebar space. This device offers versatile lighting modes for both day and night riding, automatic on/off functionality, and robust water resistance.

The light head features an adjustable angle from 0 to 30 degrees, allowing precise beam direction. It is compatible with Garmin, Wahoo, and Bryton cycle computers, and includes an adapter for action cameras.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Handlebar Mounting

The FR1000 is designed to fit handlebars with diameters ranging from 31.8 mm to 35 mm. Securely attach the ABM20 handlebar mount to your bicycle's handlebar. Ensure the mount is tightened sufficiently to prevent movement during riding.

3.2 Cycle Computer Attachment

The FR1000 features an integrated mount compatible with Garmin cycle computers by default. For Wahoo and Bryton cycle computers, use the included adapting kit. Attach your cycle computer to the top mount of the FR1000 unit.

3.3 Action Camera Attachment

An adapter kit for action cameras is included, allowing you to mount a compatible action camera beneath the FR1000 unit. This provides a convenient way to record your rides while maintaining optimal lighting.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Mode Switching

Press and hold the power button to turn the light on or off. Short press the power button to cycle through the different lighting modes (High, Medium, Low, Eco, Pulse Flash).

4.2 Automatic On/Off Mode

When activated, the FR1000 enters sleep mode after 2 minutes of inactivity. It will automatically reactivate instantly upon detecting movement, conserving battery during stops.

4.3 Light Head Adjustment

The light head can be manually adjusted from 0 to 30 degrees to direct the beam as needed for optimal visibility and to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic.

5. Modes and Brightness

The FR1000 offers five distinct lighting modes to suit various riding conditions:

  • High: 1000 Lumens, approximately 2.5 hours runtime.
  • Medium: 500 Lumens, approximately 3.5 hours runtime.
  • Low: 300 Lumens, approximately 7 hours runtime.
  • Eco: 150 Lumens, approximately 10 hours runtime.
  • Pulse Flash: 500 Lumens, approximately 39 hours runtime (ideal for daytime visibility).

6. Charging and Battery

6.1 Charging the FR1000

The FR1000 features a USB-C charging port. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the light and a suitable USB power source. A full charge takes approximately 2.7 hours, providing up to 39 hours of continuous use depending on the mode.

6.2 Battery Indicator

When the light is off, press the power button once to activate the battery indicator:

  • Green: 40% - 100% battery remaining.
  • Red: 5% - 40% battery remaining.
  • Flashing Red: Less than 5% battery remaining.

6.3 Emergency Charging Function

The FR1000 can serve as an emergency power bank for your cycle computer or mobile phone. To use this feature, first connect your device to the appropriate cable, then connect the cable to the FR1000's USB-C port.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the light unit with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing or lens.

7.2 Water Resistance

The FR1000 is IPX6 water-resistant, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets. It is stable in rainy conditions but not suitable for prolonged immersion. Always ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.

7.3 Heat Dissipation

The grooved aluminum head of the FR1000 is designed for optimal heat management, ensuring stable performance during extended use. Do not obstruct the grooves.

7.4 Quick Release Mechanism

The quick-release button on the rear allows for easy attachment and detachment of the light unit from the mount in approximately 3 seconds, facilitating portability and charging.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Light not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. Press and hold the power button for a few seconds to power on.
  • Light not charging: Check the USB-C cable and power source. Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the light and the power adapter.
  • Cycle computer not fitting: Verify you are using the correct adapter for your cycle computer brand (Garmin, Wahoo, Bryton).
  • Unstable mount: Ensure the handlebar mount is securely tightened to the handlebar. The FR1000 is designed for handlebars between 31.8mm and 35mm. Some flat handlebars may require specific adapters not included.
  • Automatic mode not working: Ensure the automatic mode is activated. The light requires movement to reactivate from sleep mode.
