Setup

Connectivity Modes

The TECKNET TK-GK005 keyboard supports three connection modes: USB-C Wired, 2.4GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth 5.0. You can connect up to 5 devices (1 via 2.4GHz, 3 via Bluetooth, 1 via USB-C).

Switching Modes

Use the mode switch located on the side of the keyboard to select your desired connection method.

2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the USB receiver stored in the keyboard's base.
  2. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Switch the keyboard to 2.4GHz mode. The keyboard should connect automatically.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode.
  2. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Select the TECKNET keyboard from the list of available devices to pair.
  4. The keyboard can store up to 3 Bluetooth profiles. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for specific pairing instructions for each profile.

USB-C Wired Connection

Connect the provided USB-C to USB-A cable from the keyboard to your computer. Switch the keyboard to wired mode. The keyboard will function as a wired device and charge simultaneously.

Hot-Swappable Switches

The TK-GK005 features hot-swappable sockets compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. This allows for easy customization and replacement of switches without soldering.

To replace a switch:

  1. Carefully remove the keycap using the included keycap puller.
  2. Use the switch puller (often integrated with the keycap puller) to gently extract the switch from its socket.
  3. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure pins are not bent.
  4. Re-attach the keycap.

Operating Instructions

Key Combination Settings

The keyboard features various function key combinations for quick adjustments:

  • Switch to Windows System: Press FN + W for 3 seconds.
  • Switch to Mac System: Press FN + M for 3 seconds.
  • Factory Reset: Press FN + ESC for 3 seconds.
  • Adjust Backlight Brightness Up: Press FN + ↑ (Up Arrow).
  • Adjust Backlight Brightness Down: Press FN + ↓ (Down Arrow).

RGB Backlighting

  • Battery Care: The keyboard is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery. For best battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the keyboard using the provided USB-C cable.
