1. Product Overview

2.1 Package Contents

2.2 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
2. Slide the cover downwards to remove it.
3. Remove the plastic insulator from the battery terminals if present.
4. Insert the Li-ion battery pack into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly. The 'UP' arrow on the battery pack indicates the correct orientation.
5. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

2.3 Charging the Battery

The BAOFENG MP25 radio is powered by a 1400mAh rechargeable lithium battery. It can be charged using the provided Type-C USB cable.

1. Open the rubber cover on the side of the radio to expose the Type-C charging port.
2. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the radio's port.

2.4 Power On/Off

To power on the radio, press and hold the Power button (usually marked with a power symbol) until the LCD screen illuminates. To power off, press and hold the same button until the screen turns off.

After powering on, ensure the display shows a channel number and battery level. If the battery is low, charge it before use.

3.1 Channel Selection

The BAOFENG MP25 features 22 FRS channels. To change channels:

1. Press the MENU button to enter the menu.
2. Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to navigate to the channel setting.
3. Press MENU again to select the channel.
4. Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
5. Press MENU to confirm, or CALL to exit without saving.

For private communication, you can set CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) or DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) codes. These codes filter out unwanted conversations on the same channel.

3.2 Transmitting and Receiving

1. Ensure both radios are on the same channel and privacy code (if used).
2. To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
3. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.

3.3 NOAA Weather Alerts

The radio includes 12 NOAA real-time weather channels to provide critical storm alerts. To access NOAA weather channels:
