4.2 Connecting Test Leads

Always connect the test leads correctly for accurate and safe measurements:

  • Connect the black test lead to the COM (common) input jack.
  • For most measurements (voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature, diode, continuity), connect the red test lead to the VΩmA input jack.
  • For high current measurements (up to 10A), connect the red test lead to the 10A input jack.

5. Operating Modes

Turn the rotary switch to the desired function. Use the SELECT button to toggle between modes (e.g., AC/DC) if applicable.

5.1 Voltage Measurement (DC/AC)

To measure voltage:

  1. Set the rotary switch to the 'V' (Voltage) position.
  2. Use the SELECT button to choose between DC (V-) or AC (V~) voltage.
  3. Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component being measured.

5.2 Current Measurement (DC/AC)

To measure current:

  1. Set the rotary switch to the 'A' (Current) position.
  2. Use the SELECT button to choose between DC (A-) or AC (A~) current.
  3. Connect the test leads in series with the circuit. Ensure the circuit is open before connecting the meter.

5.3 Resistance Measurement

To measure resistance:

  1. Set the rotary switch to the 'Ω' (Resistance) position.
  2. Ensure the circuit or component is de-energized before measuring.
  3. Connect the test leads across the component.

5.4 Capacitance Measurement

To measure capacitance:

  1. Set the rotary switch to the 'F' (Capacitance) position.
  2. Ensure the capacitor is fully discharged before measuring.
  3. Connect the test leads across the capacitor.

5.5 Frequency Measurement

6.3 Data Hold

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release.

6.4 MAX/MIN Value Recording

Press the MAX/MIN button to enter recording mode. The meter will display the maximum and minimum values measured since activation. Press again to cycle through MAX, MIN, and current readings.

6.5 Automatic Negative Polarity Indication

The display automatically shows a '-' symbol for negative DC measurements, preventing wiring mistakes.

6.6 Over Range Indication

If the measured value exceeds the selected range, the display will show 'OL' (Over Load) to protect the device from damage.

6.7 15-Minute Auto Shut-Off

To conserve battery life, the multimeter automatically powers off after 15 minutes of inactivity. Press any button or turn the rotary switch to reactivate.
