1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Kismile 5-Cup Drip Coffee Machine. This compact and efficient coffee maker is designed to provide fresh, delicious coffee with ease. Featuring an LED display, programmable timer, anti-drip system, and safety features like auto shut-off and dry-boil protection, it is ideal for home and office use. Please read this manual thoroughly before operation to ensure safe and optimal performance.

2. Important Safety Instructions

• Read all instructions before using the appliance.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.

• Please do not open the top cover and make sure the glass cup is placed on the warming plate correctly during the brewing.

• The container is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used on a stovetop.

3. Product Overview & Components

4. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the removable funnel, reusable filter, and glass carafe in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
3. Place: Position the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
4. Assemble: Place the removable funnel into its designated slot in the coffee maker, then insert the reusable filter into the funnel.
5. First Brew Cycle (without coffee): Fill the water tank to the MAX line with clean water. Run a full brew cycle without coffee grounds to clean the internal components. Discard the water.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Fill Water Tank: Open the top lid and pour fresh, cold water into the water tank. Use the markings on the water window to fill to your desired number of cups (up to 5 cups / 0.75L).

2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the reusable filter into the removable funnel. Add your desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one scoop (provided) per cup of water, adjusting to your taste.

3. Close Lid & Place Carafe: Close the top lid securely. Ensure the glass carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate.
4. Start Brewing: Press the 'On/Off' button to begin brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.

5. Anti-Drip Feature: The 30-second anti-drip system allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup without spills. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

6. Keep Warm: After brewing is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot for up to 2 hours before automatically shutting off.

6. Programming the 12-Hour Timer

The Kismile coffee machine features a programmable 12-hour timer for preset brewing:

1. Set Current Time: When the coffee maker is plugged in, the LED display will show '12:00'. Use the 'Hour' and 'Minute' buttons to set the current time. A small dot on the display indicates PM.
2. Set Program Time: Press the 'Program' button. The display will show '12:00' again, with a small clock icon. Use the 'Hour' and 'Minute' buttons to set the desired time for brewing to start automatically.
3. Activate Program: Press the 'Program' button again to confirm and activate the programmed start time. The clock icon will remain visible, indicating the timer is set.
4. Prepare for Brewing: Ensure the water tank is filled and coffee grounds are in the filter before setting the program.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

• Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool. Remove the glass carafe, reusable filter, and removable funnel. These parts are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. Wash them in warm, soapy water or place them on the top rack of your dishwasher.

• Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water.
• Descaling (Monthly or Bi-Monthly): To remove mineral deposits, fill the water tank with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Run a full brew cycle. After the cycle, discard the mixture and run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse thoroughly.

8. Troubleshooting

• Coffee not brewing: Ensure the coffee maker is plugged in, the 'On/Off' button is pressed, and the water tank has sufficient water. Check if the carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
• Coffee tastes weak/strong: Adjust the amount of coffee grounds used. Ensure the water-to-coffee ratio is appropriate for your preference.
• Water leaking: Check that the carafe is properly seated on the warming plate and that the removable funnel and filter are correctly assembled.
• Timer not working: Ensure the current time is set correctly and the program time is activated by pressing the 'Program' button after setting.
