5. Setup
5.1 Power Connection

5.2 Audio Connections (Valeton GP-5)
- Connect your guitar to the IN jack of the Valeton GP-5 using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
- Connect the OUT/PHONES jack of the Valeton GP-5 to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface using a 1/4-inch cable. For stereo output or headphones, use a TRS (stereo) cable.
5.3 Connecting the Hotone Tuner Press
The Tuner Press can be integrated into your signal chain in various ways depending on its intended use (tuner, volume, or expression pedal).
- As a Tuner/Volume Pedal: Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack. Connect the OUTPUT jack to the IN jack of the Valeton GP-5 or directly to your amplifier.

6. Operating the Valeton GP-5
6.1 Basic Operation
Once powered on, the GP-5 will display the current patch number and name. Use the footswitch to cycle through patches. The PARA knob is used to navigate menus and adjust parameters within selected effects.
6.2 Effect Blocks and Editing
The GP-5 features over 100 effects organized into up to 9 effect blocks. To edit an effect:
- Select a patch.
- Press the PARA knob to enter the effect chain view.
- Rotate the PARA knob to select an effect block. Press to enter its parameters.
- Adjust parameters using the VOL and PARA knobs.
- Press the PARA knob again to exit parameter editing.
6.3 SnapTone Technology
The GP-5 supports NAM (Neural Amp Modeler) files, allowing you to load and play various amplifier models. It comes with 50 preloaded SnapTones and supports up to 80 user-loaded files. Refer to the Valeton software editor for managing SnapTone files.
6.4 Third-Party IR Loader
The device can load up to 20 custom cabinet impulse responses (IRs). This feature allows for extensive tone customization by simulating different speaker cabinets. Use the dedicated software editor to upload and manage your IR files.

7. Operating the Hotone Tuner Press
7.1 Tuner Mode
To activate tuner mode, press the footswitch. The display will show the note being played and indicate if it is sharp or flat. Use the TUNER MODE and PITCH buttons to adjust settings as needed. Press the footswitch again to exit tuner mode and return to normal signal flow (true bypass).
7.2 Volume Pedal Function
In volume pedal mode, the pedal controls the output volume of your instrument. Press the DISPLAY switch to cycle to the volume display. Move the pedal forward to increase volume and backward to decrease it. The HI/LOW switch can adjust the volume range.
7.3 Expression Pedal Function
When used as an expression pedal, the Tuner Press sends control voltage to a compatible device. Connect the EXP OUT jack to the expression input of the target device. Press the DISPLAY switch to cycle to the expression display. The pedal's movement will then control the assigned parameter on the external device. The HI/LOW switch may affect the expression range.
