1. Introduction

The TONTRU T101 is a versatile wireless mechanical gaming keyboard designed for various computing environments. It features tri-mode connectivity (Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired USB-C), hot-swappable switches for customization, vibrant RGB backlighting, and a full 101-key layout including a dedicated volume knob. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance of your keyboard.

3. Product Overview

3.1. Advanced Structure

The keyboard features a multi-layered internal structure designed for enhanced typing feel and sound dampening.

3.2. Multifunctional Volume Knob

The metal rotary knob located on the top right of the keyboard provides convenient media control.

4. Setup and Connectivity

The TONTRU T101 keyboard supports three connection modes: wired USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.0.

4.1. Wired Connection

1. Locate the USB-C port on the keyboard.
2. Connect the provided USB-C to USB-A cable to the keyboard and your computer's USB port.
3. The keyboard will automatically be recognized and ready for use. This mode also charges the keyboard battery.

4.2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

1. Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver (dongle) in the keyboard's storage slot (usually on the underside or side).
2. Plug the 2.4GHz USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
3. On the keyboard, switch the connectivity mode to 2.4G (often indicated by a switch on the side or back).
4. Press Fn + R to activate 2.4GHz pairing mode. The indicator light will flash.
5. The keyboard should connect automatically.

4.3. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

The keyboard supports pairing with up to three Bluetooth devices.

1. On the keyboard, switch the connectivity mode to BT (Bluetooth).
2. Press and hold Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E for 3-5 seconds to enter pairing mode for the respective Bluetooth channel. The indicator light for the selected channel will flash rapidly.
3. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
4. Select "TONTRU T101" (or similar name) from the list of available devices to pair.
5. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid.
6. To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E briefly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard features 16 vibrant RGB lighting effects. Use the following key combinations to control the backlighting:

• Fn + +: Increase Brightness
• Fn + -: Decrease Brightness
• Fn + /: Switch Backlight Effect

• Fn + ↑ (Up Arrow): Speed Up Effect
• Fn + ↓ (Down Arrow): Speed Down Effect
• Fn + X: Turn Keyboard Light On/Off

5.2. Volume Knob Operation

As detailed in Section 3.2, the volume knob allows for:

• Clockwise Rotation: Volume Up
• Counter-clockwise Rotation: Volume Down
• Press (Click): Mute/Unmute Audio

5.3. Other Function Keys

The keyboard's F-keys (F1-F12) may have secondary functions when pressed in combination with the Fn key. Refer to the keycap legends for specific functions such as media control, application shortcuts, or system functions.

6. Hot-Swappable Switches

The TONTRU T101 keyboard features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing you to change mechanical switches without soldering. This supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.

6.1. Changing Switches

1. Using the included keycap puller, carefully remove the desired keycap by pulling straight up.
2. Using the switch puller tool, gently grip the top and bottom clips of the switch.
3. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
4. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight.
5. Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks securely. Do not force it.
6. Replace the keycap.

Caution: Ensure the keyboard is disconnected or powered off before changing switches to prevent damage.

7. Charging and Battery Life

The keyboard is equipped with an 8000mAh rechargeable battery.

7.1. Charging the Keyboard

Connect the keyboard to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter) using the provided USB-C cable. The charging indicator light will show the charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged). The keyboard can be used while charging in wired mode.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TONTRU T101 keyboard, please refer to the following common solutions:

• Keyboard not responding: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Try connecting via USB-C cable to rule out wireless connectivity issues.
• Wireless connection issues: For 2.4GHz, ensure the USB receiver is securely plugged in and the keyboard is in 2.4G mode. For Bluetooth, ensure the keyboard is in BT mode and paired correctly to the desired channel (Fn+Q/W/E). Try re-pairing the device.
• Keys not registering: Check if the switches are properly seated. If a specific key is not working, try swapping its switch with a known working one to diagnose if it's a switch or PCB issue.
• Backlight not working: Ensure the backlight is not turned off (Fn+X). Adjust brightness (Fn++ / Fn+-).
• Lag or input delay: Ensure the keyboard is fully charged. For wireless modes, try moving closer to the receiver/device or reducing interference from other wireless devices.
