2. Setup

2.1 Power Source

The OSALO OS-12T calculator operates on dual power: solar and battery. In well-lit environments, the solar panel powers the device. In low-light conditions, the built-in battery automatically takes over. The calculator includes an 8-minute auto power-off function to conserve energy.

2.2 Initial Use

3.2 Basic Calculations

Perform standard arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) by entering numbers and pressing the corresponding operator keys. Press the = key to display the result.

3.3 Tax Function

The calculator includes dedicated keys for tax calculations.

  1. Setting the Tax Rate:
    Press AC.
    Press RATE.
    Enter the desired tax rate (e.g., 8 for 8%).
    Press RATE again to save.
  2. Adding Tax:
    Enter the original amount.
    Press TAX+. The display shows the amount including tax.
  3. Subtracting Tax:
    Enter the amount including tax.
    Press TAX-. The display shows the original amount before tax.

Use M+, M-, and MRC keys to store and recall values from memory.
