4. Assembly and Setup

4.1 Attaching the Handle

Attach the loop handle to the main shaft. Ensure it is securely fastened at a comfortable height for operation.

4.2 Installing the Cutting Attachment

The trimmer supports both nylon cord and plastic blades. Choose the appropriate cutting attachment for your task.

  • Nylon Cord: The nylon cord spool is typically pre-installed. Ensure the cord extends properly.
  • Plastic Blades: If using plastic blades, carefully attach them to the cutting head according to the instructions provided with the Plastic Blade KIT.

4.3 Adjusting Shaft Length and Head Angle

The trimmer features an adjustable shaft length and a 7-step angle adjustable head for optimal comfort and performance.

  • Shaft Adjustment: Loosen the locking collar on the shaft, adjust to your desired length, and tighten securely.
  • Head Angle Adjustment: Press the angle adjustment button and pivot the head to one of the 7 available positions. Release the button to lock the head in place. This allows for easier trimming on slopes or reaching difficult areas.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery using the included 4.0Ah charger. The charging time is approximately 30 minutes.

5.2 Inserting the Battery

Align the battery pack with the battery port on the trimmer and slide it in until it clicks into place. Ensure it is firmly seated.

5.3 Starting and Stopping the Trimmer

  • To Start: Press and hold the safety lock-off button, then squeeze the trigger switch.
  • To Stop: Release the trigger switch.

5.4 Trimming and Edging

The ST24DA2 can be used for both grass trimming and edging.

  • Grass Trimming: Hold the trimmer with both hands, keeping the cutting head parallel to the ground. Move the trimmer in a sweeping motion to cut grass.
  • Edging: To convert to an edger, rotate the trimmer head 90 degrees and engage the integrated wheels. This allows for precise cutting along edges of lawns, driveways, and flowerbeds.

5.5 Operating Time
