2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before operating your new air conditioning unit. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Always ensure the unit is properly grounded to prevent electric shock.
  • Do not attempt to repair or modify the unit yourself. Contact qualified service personnel for repairs.
  • Keep the indoor unit clean and free from obstructions to ensure proper airflow.
  • Ensure the outdoor unit is placed on a stable, level surface or securely mounted to prevent vibration.
  • Do not block the air intake or outlet of either unit.
  • Use only the specified refrigerant (R-32) and ensure proper handling during installation and maintenance.
  • Turn off power at the main breaker before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

4. Setup & Installation

Professional installation by a certified technician is highly recommended to ensure proper function and to maintain warranty validity. Self-installation may void the warranty.

4.1 Sizing Your Unit

To select the correct BTU capacity, measure the square footage of the area to be cooled or heated. Multiply the length by the width of the space. For areas with less insulation (e.g., garages) or high heat gain, consider a slightly higher BTU unit.

This 12,000 BTU unit is designed for spaces up to 550 sq. ft.

4.2 Unboxing and Components

The unit will arrive in multiple boxes. Carefully unpack all components and verify against the "What's in the Box" section.

4.3 Indoor Unit Placement

Ensure adequate clearance around the indoor unit for optimal airflow. A minimum of 6 to 8 inches of clearance from the ceiling is recommended, especially since the air intake is located at the top. This ensures efficient operation.

4.4 Outdoor Unit Placement

The outdoor unit can be placed on a level base on the ground or mounted to a wall using a bracket. If installing in an area prone to flooding, a wall-mounted bracket is a better option to protect the unit. Ensure the unit is elevated from the ground to minimize vibrations and protect from direct surface contact.

4.5 Refrigerant Lines and Electrical Connections

The system comes pre-charged with R-32 refrigerant. The provided tubing is 16 feet long and can be shortened to 10 feet if needed. If the tubing exceeds 25 feet, additional refrigerant must be added to compensate for the extra distance.

Electrical connections should be made to a disconnect box, which acts as a safety measure, allowing power to be shut off for maintenance or emergencies. The disconnect box should then be wired directly to a dedicated breaker in your switch panel.
