1. Introduction
The Laser 9210 is a professional workshop tool designed for both extracting (pulling) and inserting (pushing) components using standard workshop air pressure. This bi-directional pneumatic air/slide hammer utilizes air hammer technology to generate impact force, significantly reducing the physical strain and repetitive impact on the user compared to traditional manual slide hammers. It is engineered to provide controlled and powerful force for various automotive and mechanical applications.
2. Safety Information
Always adhere to general workshop safety practices and the following specific guidelines when operating the Laser 9210:
- Eye Protection: Always wear approved safety glasses or goggles to protect against flying debris.
- Hearing Protection: The tool generates a noise level of 98dB. Wear appropriate hearing protection to prevent hearing damage.
- Hand Protection: Wear heavy-duty work gloves to protect hands from impact and vibration.
- Air Supply: Ensure the air supply is disconnected before performing any maintenance, changing attachments, or when the tool is not in use.
- Air Pressure: Do not exceed the recommended working pressure of 120 PSI. Use a regulated air supply.
- Work Area: Keep the work area clean, well-lit, and free from obstructions. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance.
- Attachments: Use only genuine Laser attachments and adaptors. Ensure all attachments are securely fastened before operation.
- Tool Condition: Inspect the tool for any damage or wear before each use. Do not operate a damaged tool.
- Read Instructions: Read and understand all instructions in this manual before operating the tool.
3. Components and Setup
The Laser 9210 Bi-Directional Pneumatic Air/Slide Hammer comes with the main unit and several adaptors for versatile applications.
3.1. Included Components
- Laser 9210 Bi-Directional Pneumatic Air/Slide Hammer (main unit with M18 x 2.0mm thread)
- M14 x 1.5mm Thread Adaptor
- 5/8" UNF Thread Adaptor
- Air Chisel Adaptor

3.2. Connecting to Air Supply
- Ensure your air compressor is capable of providing a continuous air supply of 36 CFM (approx.) at a working pressure of 120 PSI.
- Connect a minimum 3/8" air hose to the tool's 1/4" BSP air inlet.
- Ensure all connections are secure and free from leaks.
4. Operation
The Laser 9210 is designed for both pulling (extraction) and hammering (pushing) applications. The direction of force is controlled by the tool's internal mechanism.
4.1. Attaching the Workpiece
- Select the appropriate thread adaptor (M14 x 1.5mm, 5/8" UNF) or the air chisel adaptor based on your application.
- Thread the chosen adaptor securely onto the main tool's M18 x 2.0mm thread.
- Attach the tool to the workpiece. For pulling applications, ensure a secure connection to the component to be extracted (e.g., a wheel hub).

4.2. Pulling (Extraction) Operation
For pulling operations, the tool generates 1,300 BPM (blows per minute), equivalent to 4,000kg of force.
- With the tool securely attached to the component, ensure a firm grip on the handle.
- Activate the air supply to the tool. The internal mechanism will automatically generate rapid impacts in the pulling direction.
- Maintain control of the tool and apply steady tension as the component is extracted.

4.3. Hammering (Pushing) Operation
For hammering operations, the tool also generates 1,300 BPM, equivalent to 4,000kg of force. This is typically used with the air chisel adaptor.
- Attach the air chisel adaptor to the tool.
- Position the chisel tip against the workpiece.
- Activate the air supply. The tool will generate rapid impacts in the pushing direction, similar to a conventional air hammer.
- Guide the tool carefully to achieve the desired result.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Laser 9210.
- Daily: Before each use, check the air hose and connections for wear or damage. Ensure all adaptors are clean and threads are free from debris.
- Lubrication: Apply a few drops of pneumatic tool oil into the air inlet before and after each use, or use an in-line air lubricator. This helps maintain internal components.
- Cleaning: After use, wipe down the tool with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use harsh solvents that may damage seals or finishes.
- Storage: Store the tool in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and corrosive materials. Disconnect from the air supply when storing.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Laser 9210, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Tool not operating or low power | Insufficient air pressure or volume; clogged air inlet filter; lack of lubrication; damaged internal components. | Check air compressor output and regulator setting (ensure 120 PSI). Inspect air hose for kinks or leaks. Clean or replace air inlet filter. Lubricate the tool. If problem persists, contact support. |
| Air leaks from tool | Loose connections; worn O-rings or seals. | Tighten all air connections. Inspect and replace any worn O-rings or seals. |
| Excessive vibration or noise | Lack of lubrication; loose components; internal damage. | Ensure adequate lubrication. Check for any loose external components. If noise or vibration is unusual, discontinue use and contact support. |
