Setup
1. Inserting the MicroSD Card
- Ensure the dash cam is powered off.
- Locate the microSD card slot on the side of the device.
- Insert a high-speed (Class 10 or higher, U3 recommended) microSD card (up to 512GB supported) into the slot until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.
2. Formatting the MicroSD Card
It is crucial to format the microSD card inside the dash cam before first use and periodically thereafter to ensure stable recording.
- Power on the dash cam.
- Navigate to the "System Settings" menu.
- Select "Format SD Card" and confirm. All data on the card will be erased.
3. Installing the Dash Cam
- Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the dash cam.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the dash cam.
- Mount the dash cam on the windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, ensuring it does not obstruct your view.
- Adjust the lens angle to capture the road ahead clearly.
4. Connecting to Power
- Connect the provided car charger to the dash cam's USB port.
- Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket or 12V power outlet.
- The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Automatic: The dash cam powers on/off automatically with the vehicle's ignition.
- Manual: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to manually turn the device on or off.
Recording Modes
- Loop Recording: The dash cam continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
- Emergency Recording (G-Sensor): If the built-in G-sensor detects a sudden impact or collision, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to prevent being overwritten.
- Parking Mode: (Requires hardwire kit, sold separately) When the vehicle is parked, the dash cam can record based on motion detection or time-lapse, providing surveillance.
Wi-Fi Connectivity and App Control
The VANTRUE E2 Pro features built-in Wi-Fi for easy access to recordings and settings via the VANTRUE app on your smartphone.
- Download the "VANTRUE" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android).
