3. Setup
Initial Placement:
Place the dehumidifier in an area where the humidity is highest. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for proper air circulation. Avoid placing it against walls or in confined spaces.
Power Connection:
Plug the dehumidifier into a grounded electrical outlet. The unit comes with a 6-foot power cord for flexible placement.

4. Operating Instructions
Control Panel:
The dehumidifier features an intuitive digital LED control panel located on the top of the unit.

- Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
- Humidity % Buttons (+/-): Adjusts the desired humidity level (30-70%).
- Speed Button: Cycles through fan speeds (High, Medium, Low).
- Smart Dry: Activates automatic fan speed adjustment based on ambient humidity.
- Nonstop: Runs the dehumidifier continuously regardless of humidity level.
- Filter Button: Resets the filter reminder after cleaning.
- Delay Button: Sets a delayed start or stop time.
Setting Desired Humidity:
Use the + and - buttons to set your preferred humidity level. The unit will operate until this level is reached, then cycle on and off to maintain it.
5. Drainage Options
The GE Portable Dehumidifier offers multiple ways to manage collected water:
A. Manual Drainage (Water Bucket):
The unit collects water in a removable internal bucket. When the bucket is full, the unit will automatically shut off and an alarm will sound. To empty:
- Gently pull out the water bucket from the front of the unit.
- Carry the bucket using its integrated handle.
- Pour out the collected water.
- Slide the empty bucket back into the unit until it clicks into place.

B. Continuous Drainage (Built-in Pump):
For uninterrupted operation, use the built-in pump to drain water automatically. This is ideal for basements or areas where you want to avoid frequent manual emptying.
- Locate the pump drain outlet on the back of the unit.
- Connect the included hose to the pump drain outlet.
- Route the hose to a suitable drain location (e.g., sink, floor drain) up to 16 feet away. Ensure the hose is not kinked or obstructed.
- Activate the pump function on the control panel if necessary (refer to control panel section).

6. Maintenance
Filter Cleaning:
The dehumidifier is equipped with a washable and removable slide-out filter. A filter reminder light will illuminate on the control panel when it's time to clean the filter to maintain optimal performance.
- Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier.
- Locate the filter cover on the back of the unit and remove it.
- Slide out the air filter.
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Reinsert the dry filter and replace the cover.
- Plug in the unit and press the 'Filter' button for 3 seconds to reset the filter reminder.

Unit Cleaning:
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
7. Troubleshooting
