Introduction
Thank you for choosing the VIPCOO ES1-48V 20.8Ah Electric Scooter. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your scooter. Please read it thoroughly before your first ride and keep it for future reference.
Setup
1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Carefully unbox your VIPCOO ES1 Electric Scooter. Ensure all components listed in the 'What's in the Box' section are present and undamaged. It is recommended to perform unboxing on a soft surface to prevent scratches.
Video: Product Unboxing - This video demonstrates the unboxing process of the VIPCOO ES1 Electric Scooter, showing how to carefully remove the scooter and its accessories from the packaging.
2. Handlebar and Display Installation
Attach the handlebars to the steering stem. Ensure the display is oriented correctly with the logo side edge down when facing the handlebar. Secure the display using the provided screws and Allen wrench. Be cautious of spring washers during this process to prevent loss or misalignment. Adjust the handlebar clamp to ensure vertical alignment with the front wheel and secure the stem cap.

3. Kickstand Installation
Unfold the kickstand. Locate the appropriate Allen wrench from the toolkit and remove the two screws from the kickstand base. Install the kickstand base in the correct orientation, aligning the holes, and reinsert the screws. Tighten both screws securely. The side kick assist plate is angle-adjustable; loosen and tighten screws to set your preferred angle. If the kickstand touches the battery compartment when folded, rotate the length adjustment screw counter-clockwise slightly until it no longer makes contact.
4. Rear Mudguard Installation
Locate the rear wheel mudguard from the included accessories. Align the two mounting holes on the mudguard with the two holes on the rear mudguard bracket. Place a washer on the innermost side of each screw. Insert and tighten the screws into their corresponding holes.
5. Initial Battery Charge
Fully charge the battery before the first use. The charging port is located on the side of the scooter's deck. The charger indicator light is red during charging and turns green when fully charged. For extended periods of disuse, perform a full charge-discharge cycle monthly (charge to 100% -> use up the battery to 0% -> recharge to 100%) to prolong battery lifespan and maintain stable performance.
6. Tire Pressure Check
The tire pressure of each wheel must be checked prior to initial use. It is recommended to inflate the tire pressure to 35 PSI. If your inflator lacks a pressure gauge, you can manually check by squeezing the tire with maximum force; tires inflated to 35 PSI should feel extremely firm and barely compressible.
Operating Instructions

7. Password Requirement (P09 Setting)
P09 is the setting for whether a password is required to start up the vehicle. '01' enables the password requirement, and '00' disables it.
8. Factory Reset (P99 Setting)
P99 is the factory reset. Press and hold the 'M' key until '99' changes to double hyphens, indicating a successful factory reset. After a successful reset, the screen will return to the normal information interface.
9. Adjusting Handlebar Height
Release the handlebar latch. Press the ball detent and adjust the handlebar height to your preference. Ensure the ball detent locks into the corresponding detent slot, then tighten the stem latch securely.
10. Folding and Unfolding the Scooter
To fold: Pull the hook of the folding lock latch. Hold the stem with one hand and unlock the folding safety latch. Fold the scooter until the safety latch engages in the detent position. At this point, the scooter's folding parts will be in the locked position.

Maintenance
1. Battery Care
- Always charge the battery fully before first use.
- For optimal battery life, avoid completely draining the battery regularly.
- If storing the scooter for extended periods, ensure the battery is charged to about 50-70% and recharge monthly to maintain battery health.
- Operating and charging temperatures should be kept between 10-40 ℃ (50-104 ℉).
2. Tire Maintenance
- Regularly check tire pressure and inflate to 35 PSI for optimal performance and safety.
- Inspect tires for wear, punctures, or damage before each ride.
3. Brake System
- Regularly check the dual braking system for proper function and responsiveness.
- Ensure brake levers are comfortable and adjust if necessary.
4. General Cleaning and Storage
- Clean the scooter with a damp cloth; avoid high-pressure water jets.
- Store the scooter in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
1. Scooter Not Powering On
- Check if the battery is charged.
- Ensure all connections are secure.
- Verify the correct password is being entered if P09 is enabled.
2. Throttle Not Responding from Standstill
- Check P06 (Zero Speed Start) setting. If P06 is '00' (disabled), the scooter requires a push-start before engaging the throttle. If P06 is '01' (enabled), the throttle should engage from a standstill.
3. Uncomfortable Brake/Throttle/Keypad Angle
- Loosen the respective clamp screws with the provided Allen wrench, adjust to a comfortable angle, and then re-tighten the screws.
4. Kickstand Interfering with Battery Compartment When Folded
- Adjust the Kickstand Length Adjustment Screw (located on the kickstand base) counter-clockwise slightly until the kickstand no longer contacts the battery compartment when folded.
