4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove all components from the carrying case. Inspect for any shipping damage. Ensure all listed components are present.
4.2 Battery Charging
The chainsaw operates on 2000mAh lithium-ion batteries. Fully charge both batteries before initial use.
- Connect the charger to a standard power outlet.
- Insert the battery into the charger. The indicator light on the charger will show the charging status.
- Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.
4.3 Chain Oiling (Automatic Lubrication System)
The chainsaw features an automatic chain lubrication system. Ensure the oil reservoir is filled with appropriate chain oil before each use to prevent chain and guide bar wear.
- Locate the oil reservoir cap on the chainsaw body.
- Unscrew the cap and carefully pour chain oil into the reservoir using the provided oiler or a suitable funnel.
- Do not overfill. Replace the cap securely.
- Periodically check the oil level during operation and refill as needed.

4.4 Chain Tensioning
Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation. The S7 Studio features a tool-free tensioning system.
- Ensure the battery is removed before adjusting chain tension.
- Locate the orange tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw.
- Turn the knob clockwise to increase chain tension or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
- The chain should be snug against the guide bar, but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no excessive slack.
- Check tension frequently, especially during initial use as the chain may stretch.

4.5 Battery Installation
Once charged, slide a battery into the battery slot on the bottom of the chainsaw handle until it clicks securely into place.
5. Operating Instructions
Always wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety guidelines before operating the chainsaw.
5.1 Starting and Stopping
- Starting: Press and hold the safety switch (usually a button or lever near the trigger) with your thumb, then squeeze the trigger to start the chain.
- Stopping: Release the trigger. The chain will stop rotating.
5.2 Cutting Techniques
Maintain a firm grip with both hands, keeping the chainsaw balanced. Position yourself to avoid kickback and falling debris.
- Small Branches: For branches up to 8 inches in diameter, make a single cut from the top down.
- Larger Logs: For logs, make a small undercut first, then complete the cut from the top. This prevents pinching of the guide bar.
- Pruning: When pruning, cut branches close to the main trunk or limb, but avoid cutting into the branch collar.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not force the chainsaw through wood. Let the chain do the work. If the motor slows significantly, ease off the pressure.

- After each use, clean sawdust and debris from the chainsaw body, guide bar, and chain. Use a brush or compressed air.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
6.2 Chain Sharpening and Replacement
- A sharp chain is essential for efficient cutting and safety. Sharpen the chain regularly or replace it when dull or damaged.
- The tool-free tensioning system also facilitates quick chain replacement (approximately 1 minute). Refer to the tensioning instructions for accessing the chain.
6.3 Guide Bar Maintenance
- Clean the guide bar groove to remove sawdust and debris.
- Flip the guide bar periodically to ensure even wear.
6.4 Battery Care and Storage
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long-term storage, charge batteries to approximately 50% capacity.
6.5 General Storage
Store the chainsaw in its portable carrying case in a secure, dry location, out of reach of children.
