Setup and Initial Operation

1. Initial Winding

As an automatic mechanical watch, it is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or is running low on power, it requires initial winding. Gently rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times until you feel resistance. This will build up a power reserve to start the movement. The watch will then continue to wind itself with regular wear.

2. Setting Time, Date, and Moon Phase

Your OLEVS watch features multiple functions that can be adjusted using the crown and side buttons. Refer to Figure 3 for the location of adjustment points.

  • Time and Moon Phase Adjustment: Pull the main crown (located at 3 o'clock) out to the first click position. Rotate the crown to set the time. The moon phase dial will turn in conjunction with the time setting. Ensure to set the time correctly for AM/PM to align the moon phase.
  • Date Adjustment: Locate the Date Adjustment Button (typically a recessed button on the side of the case, often near 4 o'clock). Use a small, pointed tool (like the provided pin or a toothpick) to press this button to advance the date. Do not adjust the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  • Monthly Adjustment: Locate the Monthly Adjustment Button (typically a recessed button on the side of the case, often near 2 o'clock). Use a small, pointed tool to press this button to advance the month.
  • Year Adjustment: Locate the Left Dark Knob (often a small, recessed button or screw on the left side of the case). Use a small, pointed tool to adjust the year.

After setting, push the main crown back into its original position to secure the settings and ensure water resistance.

Operating Functions

Your OLEVS watch is equipped with several advanced functions:

  • Self-Winding Mechanical Movement: The watch is powered by your natural wrist movements. When worn regularly, it will maintain its power reserve. If not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding as described in the "Initial Winding" section.
  • Moon Phase Display: This complication tracks the lunar cycle, displaying the current phase of the moon. It is synchronized with the time setting.
  • Triple Calendar: The watch displays the day of the month, the month, and the year, providing comprehensive date information.
  • Luminous Markers: The hands and hour markers are treated with a luminous material, allowing for readability in low-light conditions after exposure to light.

Maintenance and Care

  • Water Resistance: This watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters (3ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. It is not suitable for swimming, diving, or showering with hot water, as steam can penetrate the seals. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Cleaning: To clean your watch, wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, damp cloth. For the metal bracelet, a soft brush can be used to remove dirt from crevices. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and seals.
  • Magnetic Fields: Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, MRI machines), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements.
  • Storage: When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original box or a watch winder to maintain its power reserve.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch Stops Running: This is common for automatic watches if not worn for an extended period. Manually wind the watch as described in the "Initial Winding" section. If the issue persists after regular wear, contact customer support.
  • Inaccurate Timekeeping: Slight variations in timekeeping are normal for mechanical watches. If the watch is consistently gaining or losing significant time, it may require demagnetization or servicing. Avoid strong magnetic fields.
  • Date/Month Not Changing: Ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve. Check if you are attempting to adjust the date during the "forbidden" hours (9 PM - 3 AM). If so, adjust the time past this period and then set the date.
  • Condensation Under Crystal: If you notice condensation inside the watch, it indicates a breach in the water resistance. Stop using the watch immediately and seek professional service to prevent damage to the movement.
