3. Product Overview

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Ensure the walkie-talkie is powered off.
  2. Align the battery with the compartment on the back of the radio and press firmly until it clicks into place.
  3. Place the walkie-talkie into the charging station. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the charging station and a power source.
  4. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

4.2 Attaching Accessories

  • Antenna: Screw the antenna clockwise into the connector on top of the radio until secure.
  • Belt Clip: Attach the belt clip to the designated slot on the back of the radio.
  • Earpiece: Plug the earpiece into the audio jack on the side of the radio.

4.3 Quick Duplication

The MateTalk C63 supports quick duplication of settings across multiple devices. This feature simplifies device management and ensures consistent communication parameters, reducing setup time for large deployments. Refer to the advanced settings menu for duplication options.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Volume

  • Power On: Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Power Off: Rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Power/Volume knob to increase or decrease the volume.

5.2 Channel Selection

Use the Channel Selector knob or the up/down buttons on the keypad to select your desired channel. Ensure all radios in your group are on the same channel for communication.

5.3 Making a Call (PTT)

To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

5.4 Call Modes

The MateTalk C63 offers three distinct call modes:

  • Individual Call: For private, one-on-one communication.
  • Group Call: For communicating with a specific group of radios.
  • All Call: For broadcasting messages to all radios within range.

5.5 SMS Function

The SMS function allows for discreet text-based communication. Navigate to the SMS menu on the LCD screen to compose and send messages. This is useful for sending detailed instructions or confirmations without voice disruption.

5.6 Vibration Alert

Enable the vibration alert feature in the settings menu to receive incoming calls or messages discreetly. This ensures you do not miss important communications in noisy environments or when silence is required.

5.7 Work Order Management System

The MateTalk C63 integrates a work order ticketing system for streamlined task management. This system allows for reporting issues, scheduling repairs, and tracking task completion.

  1. Create Ticket: Initiate a new work order via the radio's menu.
  2. Dispatch: Assign the ticket to a specific individual or group.
  3. Receive Ticket: The assigned radio receives an SMS notification with the new ticket details.
  4. Accept/Start Task: The recipient accepts the ticket and begins work.
  5. Complete Task: Mark the ticket as complete through the radio interface.
  6. Confirmation: The dispatcher receives confirmation of task completion.

5.8 Dual Band and Dual Standby

This feature allows the radio to monitor two different frequency bands simultaneously. This ensures comprehensive coverage and enables quick response to communications on either band without manual switching.

5.9 Earpiece Usage

For hands-free operation and enhanced privacy, use the included over-ear earpieces. The earpiece typically includes a PTT button for convenient transmission.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

  • Charge the battery fully before first use.
  • Avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery to prolong its lifespan.
