Setup
1. Charging the Mouse
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the mouse. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the mouse's charging port and the other end to a powered USB-A port on your computer or a USB wall adapter. The LED indicator will show charging status.
2. Connecting via 2.4 GHz Wireless
- Insert the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle into an available USB-A port on your computer.
- Turn on the mouse using the power switch located on the underside.
- The mouse should automatically connect to the dongle. If not, press the pairing button (if available, refer to specific model diagram) or cycle the power.
3. Connecting via USB-C Wired
- Connect the USB-C end of the cable to the mouse and the USB-A end to your computer.
- The mouse will function immediately in wired mode and will also charge simultaneously.
4. Driver/Software Installation
For advanced customization, such as button remapping, macro creation, DPI settings, and polling rate adjustments, download the official ATK software from the manufacturer's website. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
Operating
1. DPI Adjustment
The mouse features a dedicated DPI button (usually located on the top or underside) to cycle through preset DPI levels. Each press changes the sensitivity. Specific DPI levels and their corresponding LED indicators can be customized via the ATK software.
2. Polling Rate Adjustment
The polling rate can be adjusted to optimize responsiveness. This setting is typically controlled through the ATK software. Higher polling rates (up to 8000 Hz) provide more frequent updates to the computer, resulting in smoother cursor movement and lower latency.
3. Button Functions
The ATK VXE MAD R Gaming Mouse features programmable buttons. Default functions include left click, right click, scroll wheel click, and side buttons. All buttons can be remapped and assigned macros using the ATK software.
4. Battery Status Indication
The mouse includes an LED indicator that displays the current battery level. Refer to the ATK software for precise battery percentage and low battery warnings.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the mouse surface. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the mouse. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Sensor Cleaning: Periodically clean the optical sensor lens on the underside of the mouse with a cotton swab to ensure accurate tracking.
- Storage: Store the mouse in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the mouse frequently. Charge it when the low battery indicator appears.
