2. Safety Information

WARNING: This unit contains a Class II Laser with 1mW output. Avoid direct eye exposure to the laser beam. Do not stare into the beam. Do not aim the laser at other people or reflective surfaces. Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

  • Always operate the device in accordance with the instructions provided in this manual.

4.1. Outdoor Performance & Accuracy

4.2. Pointfinder Camera with 4x Zoom

  • Point-to-Point (P2P): Measure distances between any two points, even if they are not on the same plane.

4.6. Ergonomic Design & Side Button

The P9 is designed for comfortable handling and ease of use. It includes a convenient measure side button, allowing users to capture measurements effortlessly without changing their hand position, enhancing efficiency during operation.

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation and Charging

The MILESEEY P9 comes with 3 AAA rechargeable batteries. Before first use, ensure the batteries are fully charged.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the device.
  2. Insert the 3 AAA rechargeable batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.
  4. Connect the device to a power source using the provided USB-C cable to charge the batteries. The charging indicator on the display will show the charging status.

5.2. Attaching the Lanyard

For added security and to prevent accidental drops, attach the included lanyard to the designated loop on the device.

5.3. Attaching to Tripod (Optional)

For highly precise measurements, especially over long distances or when using advanced functions, it is recommended to mount the P9 on the included tripod stand. The device has a standard tripod thread at its base.

  1. Assemble the tripod stand, adjustable center column, and tripod head.
  2. Screw the P9 onto the tripod head's mounting screw until secure.
  3. Adjust the tripod height and angle as needed for your measurement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • To power on: Press the Power button (red circle with power symbol).
  • To power off: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The device also features an auto-off function to conserve battery.

6.2. Basic Measurement (Single Distance)

  1. Point the laser at the target.
  2. Press the MEAS button (red button with laser symbol) or the side measure button.
  3. The measured distance will be displayed on the screen.

6.3. Continuous Measurement (Min/Max Tracking)

  1. From the main screen, press and hold the MEAS button.
  2. Move the device slowly towards or away from the target. The display will continuously update the current distance, as well as track the minimum and maximum distances measured.
  3. Press MEAS again to stop continuous measurement.

6.4. Using the Pointfinder Camera and Zoom

  1. Press the Camera button (camera icon) to activate the viewfinder.
  2. Use the Zoom buttons (usually +/- or dedicated zoom buttons) to adjust the magnification (1x, 2x, 4x).
  3. Align the crosshairs on the screen with your desired target.
  4. Press MEAS to take a measurement of the targeted point.

6.5. Changing Measurement Modes

Press the Function button (often labeled with a square or multiple squares icon) to cycle through different measurement modes (e.g., Area, Volume, Pythagoras, P2P, etc.). Follow the on-screen prompts for each specific mode.

6.6. Unit Conversion

Press the Unit button (often labeled with 'UNIT' or an arrow icon) to switch between measurement units (e.g., meters, feet, inches, fractions).

6.7. Recalling Stored Data

Press the Memory button (often labeled with a folder or 'M' icon) to access stored measurement data and screenshots. Use the navigation buttons to scroll through the records.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the lens of the camera and laser aperture are clean for accurate measurements.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the device in its protective storage case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: If the device will not be used for an extended period, it is advisable to fully charge the batteries before storage and periodically recharge them to maintain battery health.

8. Troubleshooting
