Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Giro Orbit Spherical Ski and Snowboard Helmet. Please read these instructions carefully before using your helmet and retain them for future reference. The Giro Orbit Spherical helmet is designed to offer comfort and protection for skiing and snowboarding activities, featuring an integrated shield, Mips Spherical technology, and Thermostat Control ventilation.
Safety Information
Your helmet is designed to reduce the risk of head injury. However, no helmet can protect against all possible impacts. Always ride within your abilities and be aware of your surroundings. Replace your helmet after any significant impact, even if visible damage is not apparent.
- Ensure the helmet fits snugly and is securely fastened.
- Do not modify the helmet in any way, as this may compromise its protective capabilities.
- Avoid exposing the helmet to extreme temperatures or harsh chemicals.
- This helmet is intended for skiing and snowboarding only.
Key Features
- Spherical Mips Technology: Engineered to aid in the reduction of rotational energy during impacts. This system features two layers of EPP foam that fit together like a ball-and-socket, allowing the outer layer to rotate around the inner layer.
- Integrated VIVID Shield: A smart and stylish shield designed to protect from elements without interfering with eyewear. Features VIVID Optics by Zeiss for enhanced contrast and definition.
- Thermostat Control Adjustable Venting: Allows for custom airflow adjustment with a low-profile control button.
- Stack Vent: Located at the front of the helmet, designed to align with goggles to help prevent fogging.
- Polartec Power Grid Padding: Provides plush, comfortable, fast-drying, and warm padding.
- Audio System Compatibility: Designed to be compatible with aftermarket audio systems.
Setup and Fit Adjustment
1. Sizing and Measurement
To ensure proper fit, measure the circumference of your head. Wrap a measuring tape around your head, keeping the tape level from front to back, just above your eyebrows. Refer to the size guide below to select the appropriate helmet size.

| Size | Circumference |
|---|---|
| S | 52 - 55.5cm |
| M | 55.5 - 59cm |
| L | 59 - 62.5cm |
| XL | 62.5 - 65cm |
2. Adjusting the Fit
Place the helmet on your head. It should feel snug and level. Adjust the dial at the back of the helmet (if applicable) to achieve a secure and comfortable fit. The helmet should not move freely when you shake your head.

3. Chin Strap Adjustment
Fasten the chin strap. The magnetic chin strap is designed for ease of use. Adjust the strap so that it is snug under your chin, allowing only one or two fingers to fit between the strap and your chin. Ensure the ear pads are positioned comfortably over your ears.
Operating Instructions
1. Integrated VIVID Shield Operation
The integrated shield can be easily pulled forward from the top of the helmet, over your face, and then seamlessly tucked back in when not needed. This design accommodates eyeglasses comfortably underneath the visor.

To remove the lens for cleaning or replacement, press the braille-like dots on both sides to pop it off.
2. Thermostat Control Ventilation
Adjust the airflow instantly using the low-profile control button on the outside of the helmet. This allows you to manage the internal temperature for optimal comfort. The Stack Vent in the front helps keep your goggles clear and fog-free.

Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning the Helmet: Use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap to clean the exterior of the helmet. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Cleaning the VIVID Shield: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Do not use paper towels or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the lens. If necessary, use a specialized lens cleaning solution.
- Storage: Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the helmet bag provided (if applicable) to protect it from scratches.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect your helmet for any signs of damage, such as cracks, dents, or frayed straps. If any damage is found, replace the helmet immediately.
- Padding: The Polartec Power Grid padding can be removed for cleaning. Follow the care instructions on the padding label.
Troubleshooting
- Helmet feels loose: Adjust the rear fit dial and chin strap for a snug fit. Refer to the "Setup and Fit Adjustment" section.
- Shield fogging: Ensure the Thermostat Control vents are open to allow airflow. The Stack Vent is designed to reduce goggle fogging. If fogging persists, use an anti-fog treatment on the lens.
- Discomfort: Re-adjust the helmet's fit and chin strap. Ensure no hair or clothing is caught under the padding.
- Integrated audio not working: Check the compatibility of your aftermarket audio system with the helmet. Ensure proper installation according to the audio system's instructions.
