1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

2.2 Battery Installation

The keyboard requires 2 AA batteries for wireless operation. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard, open it, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the compartment securely.

2.3 Wired Connection

To use the keyboard in wired mode, connect the provided USB-C to USB-A cable to the USB-C port on the keyboard and the USB-A port on your computer. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode and begin charging if batteries are installed.

2.4 Wireless (Bluetooth) Connection

The GK1702 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and can connect to up to 5 devices. To establish a wireless connection:

  1. Ensure batteries are installed in the keyboard.
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth switch (the second circular button from the left on the top row) for 5 seconds. The lights will flash, indicating it is ready to connect.
  3. On your device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "Hexgears-BK1/2/3/4" (choose an available slot).
  4. Double-click to connect.
  5. To switch between paired devices, press the corresponding Bluetooth function key (F1-F4) for the desired device.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 RGB Backlighting and Ambient Lighting

The GK1702 features per-key RGB backlighting and a sweeping underglow light bar. You can customize the lighting effects and brightness using the dedicated function keys:

  • Brightness Control: Use the dedicated brightness keys (often combined with Fn) to adjust the intensity of the backlighting.

3.2 Media Controls

The keyboard includes dedicated media control keys and a volume roller for convenient audio management. Use these controls to play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume without interrupting your workflow or gaming session.

3.3 N-Key Rollover (NKRO)

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean your keyboard, you can utilize the key lock feature to disable all keys, preventing accidental inputs. Gently wipe the keycaps and frame with a soft, damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, you may use compressed air to remove debris from between the keys.

4.2 Battery Life

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Keyboard Not Connecting via Bluetooth

  • Ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged.
