Introduction

The AOOEPU WD-R1206U Dual Band WiFi Extender is designed to expand your existing wireless network coverage, eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones, and provide stable, high-speed internet access throughout your home or office. With dual-band technology (5GHz and 2.4GHz) and four external antennas, it supports up to 105 devices and covers areas up to 12,880 sq.ft. This manual provides essential information for setup, operation, and maintenance of your device.

Setup Instructions

The AOOEPU WD-R1206U WiFi Extender offers a simple setup process. You can configure it using the WPS button or through a web browser on your mobile device or computer.

Method 1: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

  1. Power On: Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the power LED to light up.
  2. Activate WPS on Router: Press the WPS button on your main Wi-Fi router. Refer to your router's manual for the exact location and timing.
  3. Activate WPS on Extender: Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button (usually labeled "WPS" or with a WPS icon) on the AOOEPU WD-R1206U WiFi Extender for 2 seconds.
  4. Wait for Connection: The Wi-Fi signal LEDs on the extender will blink and then turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
  5. Relocate (Optional): Once connected, you can unplug the extender and move it to a location between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the signal LEDs remain solid to confirm good signal reception from the main router.

Method 2: Web Browser Setup

  1. Power On: Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the power LED to light up.
  2. Connect to Extender's Wi-Fi: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "WiFi-Repeater" or similar, check the device label). No password is required initially.
  3. Access Setup Page: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.254) or domain name (e.g., wdlogin.com) provided in the user guide.
  4. Log In: Enter the default username and password (usually "admin" for both, check the device label or user guide).
  5. Select Mode: Choose "Repeater Mode" to extend your existing Wi-Fi network.
  6. Scan for Networks: The extender will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your main router's network (SSID).
  7. Enter Password: Enter the Wi-Fi password for your main router's network. You can also set a new SSID and password for the extended network if desired.
  8. Apply Settings: Confirm the settings and wait for the extender to restart and apply the configuration. The Wi-Fi signal LEDs will turn solid upon successful connection.
