Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

2. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the speaker's internal battery. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the speaker's charging port and to a suitable USB power adapter (not included) or a powered USB port. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours and provides up to 14 hours of playback.

3. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button located on the top panel of the speaker to turn it on or off. The indicator lights will illuminate when the speaker is powered on.

4. Initial Bluetooth Pairing

Upon powering on for the first time, the speaker will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and select "Philips TAX5000E" from the list of available devices. Once connected, the indicator light will become solid.

Operating Instructions

1. Bluetooth Connection

After initial pairing, the speaker will attempt to reconnect to the last paired device automatically when powered on. If reconnection fails, manually select "Philips TAX5000E" from your device's Bluetooth settings. The effective Bluetooth range is approximately 10 meters (33 feet).

2. USB Playback

Insert a USB flash drive containing audio files (MP3, WAV, etc.) into the USB port on the speaker. The speaker will automatically detect the USB drive and begin playback. Use the playback controls on the speaker's top panel to skip tracks or adjust volume.

3. AUX Input

Connect an external audio device (e.g., CD player, laptop) to the 3.5mm AUX input port using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included). The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode. Control playback and volume from the connected device or the speaker's main volume knob.

4. Microphone and Guitar Inputs

The speaker features two microphone inputs and one guitar input. Connect your microphones or guitar to the respective 6.3mm input jacks. Use the dedicated knobs on the top panel to adjust microphone volume, guitar volume, and echo effect for vocal performances.

5. Lightshow Modes

The speaker features a dynamic RGB light show with 13 customizable modes. Press the Light button on the top panel to cycle through different lighting effects. The lights pulse to the rhythm of the music and are visible on the front, sides, and bottom of the speaker.

6. TWS (True Wireless Stereo) and Auracast™ Pairing

7. Philips Entertainment App

Download the Philips Entertainment app from your device's app store. The app allows remote control of audio settings, light modes, and other speaker functions, providing convenient customization from your smartphone or tablet.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Regularly clean the exterior of the speaker with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish. Ensure the speaker is powered off and disconnected from any power source before cleaning.

2. Battery Replacement
