4. Setup Guide
4.1. Before You Begin
Unpack your NEWFAST WiFi Extender and ensure all components are present. Choose a location for the extender that is within range of your main router and also close to the area where you need improved Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, microwaves, or other sources of interference.
4.2. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Configuration
WPS is the simplest way to set up your extender if your router supports it.
- Plug the NEWFAST WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router.
- Wait for the Power LED indicator on the extender to turn solid.
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS/RST button on the NEWFAST extender for 1-2 seconds.
- The WiFi indicator on the extender will blink during the connection process and then turn solid when successfully connected.
- Once connected, you can unplug the extender and relocate it to an optimal position between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the WiFi indicator remains solid after relocation.

192.168.10.1in the address bar. - Follow the on-screen instructions. The extender will scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Select your main router's Wi-Fi network (SSID) from the list and enter its password.
- You may choose to keep the same SSID for the extended network or create a new one. It is recommended to keep the same SSID for seamless roaming.
- Apply the settings and wait for the extender to restart.
- Once the WiFi indicator is solid, the extender is ready. Relocate it to an optimal position if necessary.

5. Operating Modes
The NEWFAST WiFi Extender supports three primary operating modes:
- Repeater Mode: This is the default mode, extending the coverage of an existing wireless network. The extender connects wirelessly to your main router and rebroadcasts the signal.
- Access Point (AP) Mode: In this mode, the extender connects to your wired network via an Ethernet cable and transforms the wired internet connection into a wireless access point. This is ideal for adding Wi-Fi capability to a wired-only network.
- Router Mode: The extender can function as a primary router, connecting directly to a modem via an Ethernet cable to create a new wireless network.

6. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your NEWFAST WiFi Extender:
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Keeping your device's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, security, and add new features.
- Optimal Placement: Ensure the extender is placed in an open area, away from physical obstructions (thick walls, metal objects) and electronic devices that may cause interference (microwaves, cordless phones).
- Cleaning: Gently clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Power Cycle: If you experience persistent issues, try power cycling the extender by unplugging it for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NEWFAST WiFi Extender, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Internet Access After Setup:
- Ensure your main router has an active internet connection.
- Verify that the extender is within range of your main router. Relocate it closer if necessary.
- Reconfigure the extender, ensuring you enter the correct Wi-Fi password for your main router.
- Weak or Unstable Signal from Extender:
- Adjust the position of the extender's external antennas for better signal reception.
- Move the extender to a different location, ideally halfway between your router and the desired coverage area.
- Check for sources of interference (e.g., other electronic devices, thick walls).
- Cannot Access Web Management Page (192.168.10.1):
- Ensure your device is connected to the extender's Wi-Fi network (e.g., "NEWFAST-2G") and not your main router's network.
- Try a different web browser or clear your browser's cache.
- If the issue persists, reset the extender to factory defaults (see below).
- WPS Setup Fails:
- Ensure your router's WPS function is enabled.
- Try the web-based configuration method instead.
- Forgotten Password or Configuration Issues:
- To restore factory default settings, press and hold the WPS/RST button on the extender for approximately 8-10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The extender will restart with default settings, and you can reconfigure it.
