Important Safety Instructions

• DO NOT COVER: Ensure the heater is never covered, as this can lead to overheating and fire hazards. The unit has a clear "DO NOT COVER" label.
• Tip-Over Protection: The appliance is equipped with a safety switch that automatically shuts off the unit if it is accidentally knocked over. Place on a stable, flat surface.
• Overheat Protection: An automatic shutoff system will activate if the heater overheats. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before restarting.
• Power Source: Only plug the heater directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet. Do not use with extension cords or power strips.
• Placement: Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.

Setup

• Unboxing: Carefully remove the CUSIMAX CMHF-08T from its packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
• Placement: Place the unit on a firm, level surface. Ensure there are no obstructions to the air intake (top) or outlet (front). Maintain at least 3 feet (0.9 m) clearance from walls, furniture, and other objects.
• Power Connection: Plug the power cord directly into a standard 120V AC wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

• To turn the unit ON, press the power button (⏻) once. The default mode is typically heating.
• To turn the unit OFF, press the power button (⏻) again. The unit will enter a cool-down phase for approximately 30 seconds before fully shutting off.

Switching Between Heater and Fan Modes

• Heater Mode: Keep the top fan section folded down. The unit will operate as a space heater, emitting warm air from the front grille.
• Fan Mode: Gently lift and fold open the top section of the unit. The heater function will automatically turn off, and the fan will activate, providing cool airflow from the top.

Adjusting Heat Levels / Fan Speed

• In Heater Mode, press the mode button (often integrated with the power button or a separate fan icon) to cycle between two heating levels (e.g., low heat, high heat). The indicator lights will show the selected level.
• In Fan Mode, press the mode button to cycle between two fan speeds (e.g., low speed, high speed).

Setting the Timer

• Press the timer button (◷) to set the automatic shut-off time. Available settings include 1 hour, 2 hours, and 4 hours.
• Combine these settings to achieve up to a 7-hour timer (e.g., pressing 1h and 2h for 3 hours, or 1h, 2h, and 4h for 7 hours).
• The corresponding indicator lights (1h, 2h, 4h) will illuminate to show the active timer setting.

Safety Features in Operation

• Tip-Over Protection: If the unit is accidentally tipped or knocked over, it will automatically shut off and emit a beeping sound. Return the unit to an upright position to resume operation.
• Overheat Protection: If the internal components reach an unsafe temperature, the heater will automatically shut down. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before plugging it back in and restarting.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Always unplug the heater before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or allow water to drip into the interior of the heater.
• Air Intake/Outlet: Periodically check the air intake and outlet for dust or debris. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently remove any accumulation.
• Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

Troubleshooting

• Unit Does Not Operate:
  • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working 120V AC outlet.
  • Check if the unit has tipped over. If so, place it upright.
  • Verify that the overheat protection has not been activated. Unplug and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes.
• No Heat/Fan:
  • Confirm the correct mode (heater or fan) is selected by checking the folding position of the top section.
  • Ensure the power and mode settings are correctly selected on the control panel.
• Unit Shuts Off Unexpectedly:
  • This is likely due to the tip-over or overheat protection. Refer to the safety features section for details.
