5. Setup
5.1 Installing a Router Bit
- Ensure the router is unplugged from the power source.
- Use the two provided wrenches to loosen the chuck counterclockwise.
- Insert the desired router bit into the collet, ensuring it is fully seated.
- Tighten the chuck clockwise firmly with the two wrenches to secure the bit.

This image illustrates the three steps for installing a router bit: first, loosen the chuck counterclockwise using the wrenches; second, insert the router bit into the collet; and third, tighten the chuck clockwise to secure the bit.
Video 5.1: Demonstration of router bit installation. This video segment shows the process of loosening the chuck, inserting a router bit, and tightening the chuck securely.
5.2 Attaching Guides
The router comes with a straight guide and a roller guide for different cutting applications.
- Straight Guide: Used for straight cuts, slotting, and circle grooving. Attach the straight guide to the router base using the provided screws and nuts. Adjust its position to achieve the desired offset from the bit.
- Roller Guide: Ideal for curved cuts and edge trimming, as it follows the contour of the workpiece. Attach the roller guide to the router base and adjust the roller position relative to the bit.

This image illustrates the three guide modes: Straight Guide, Circle Guide, and Roller Guide. Each mode includes a diagram and a photograph demonstrating how the guide is attached to the router and used for specific cutting tasks.
Video 5.2: Assembly of the straight guide for straight cuts. This segment demonstrates how to assemble and attach the straight guide to the router for precise linear routing.
Video 5.3: Assembly of the straight guide for circle works. This video shows how to configure the straight guide for cutting circular grooves or shapes.
Video 5.4: Installation of the roller guide for curved cuts. This segment illustrates the proper way to install the roller guide for following curved edges.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Adjusting Cutting Depth
The router features a rack and pinion depth adjustment system for precise control over cutting depth.
- Loosen the depth adjustment knob on the side of the router base.
- Adjust the router body up or down until the desired depth is indicated on the scale. The scale provides measurements in both inches and centimeters.
- Tighten the depth adjustment knob firmly to lock the setting before operation.

This image highlights the router's rack and pinion depth adjustment mechanism, showing the clear measurement scale in both inches and centimeters, and how to regulate the depth.
Video 6.1: Demonstration of precise depth adjustment. This video segment shows how to use the rack and pinion system to easily and accurately set the cutting depth.
6.2 Performing Straight Slotting and Edge Trimming
For straight cuts and edge trimming, attach the straight guide as described in Section 5.2.
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped.
- Set the desired cutting depth.
- Position the router with the straight guide against the edge of the workpiece.
- Turn on the router and slowly move it along the workpiece edge, maintaining constant pressure against the guide.

This image shows the router being used for straight slotting or edge trimming. The tool is guided along a wooden board, creating a clean, straight cut, with wood dust visible from the operation.
Video 6.2: Demonstration of slotting with the straight guide. This segment shows the router creating a straight slot on a wooden surface using the straight guide.
6.3 Making Circle Grooving
To create circular grooves, configure the straight guide for circle works as shown in Section 5.2.
- Mark the center point of your desired circle on the workpiece.
- Attach the straight guide configured for circle works, ensuring the pivot point aligns with your marked center.
- Set the cutting depth.
- Turn on the router and slowly rotate it around the pivot point to create the circular groove.

6.4 Performing Curved Trimming
For following curved edges, install the roller guide as detailed in Section 5.2.
- Ensure the roller guide is properly installed and adjusted to follow the curve of your workpiece.
- Set the desired cutting depth.
- Turn on the router and carefully guide it along the curved edge, allowing the roller to maintain consistent contact with the workpiece.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your router.
- Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tool and clean the router base, collet, and motor housing with a dry cloth. Remove any sawdust or debris from the air vents to prevent overheating.
- Carbon Brushes: The router is supplied with a pair of replacement carbon brushes. Carbon brushes wear down over time and should be inspected periodically. If they are worn to less than 1/4 inch (6mm) or if the motor sparks excessively, replace both brushes simultaneously. Refer to the diagram below for the location of the carbon brush caps.
- Bit Care: Keep router bits sharp and clean. Dull bits can cause kickback and poor cut quality.
- Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any damage. Do not use the tool if the cord is damaged.

This image shows the air vents on the router, which are crucial for preventing the motor from overheating during prolonged use.

This image demonstrates the process of replacing the carbon brushes, an essential maintenance step for extending the tool's lifespan.
