Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning:

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials and accessories from the machine.
  2. Clean the water tank, filter baskets, portafilter, and drip tray with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.

2. Filling the Water Tank:

  1. Open the lid of the 45 oz removable water tank located at the back of the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicated.
  3. Close the lid securely and ensure the tank is properly seated.

3. First Use / Priming the Machine:

  1. Plug the machine into a wall outlet.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button. The machine will preheat, indicated by flashing lights. Once preheating is complete (approximately 30 seconds), the lights will become solid.
  3. Place a cup under the portafilter. Without any coffee grounds in the filter, press the 1 CUP or 2 CUP button to run a cycle of hot water through the system. This primes the pump and cleans any residual manufacturing dust.
  4. Repeat the hot water cycle for the steam wand by turning the steam knob to the maximum position until steam is released, then turn it off.
  5. Discard the water. Your machine is now ready for use.

Operating Instructions

1. Making Espresso (Single/Double Shot):

  1. Prepare Coffee Grounds: Use finely ground espresso coffee. Fill the appropriate filter basket (single or double) with coffee grounds.
  2. Tamp Coffee: Use the included tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly into the filter basket. Wipe any excess grounds from the rim.
  3. Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the brew head and turn it to the right until it locks securely into place.
  4. Place Cup: Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
  5. Select Brew: On the touchscreen, select 1 CUP for a single espresso (approx. 15-20ml) or 2 CUP for a double espresso (approx. 30-40ml). The machine will automatically brew and stop.

2. Milk Frothing:

  1. Fill a metal frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
  2. Press the STEAM button on the touchscreen. Wait for the machine to preheat for steam (light will become solid).
  3. Position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam knob on the side of the machine to the maximum position.
  4. Move the pitcher slowly up and down to create foam. Once desired foam is achieved, turn the steam knob to the "off" position.
  5. Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

3. Adjustable Temperature Control:

The machine features NTC Precision Temperature Control with three settings to customize your espresso extraction temperature:

To adjust the temperature, press the TEMP button on the touchscreen and cycle through the options until your desired temperature is displayed.

4. Manual Brewing:

For customized coffee strength, use the MANUAL mode. Press the MANUAL button on the touchscreen to start brewing, and press it again to stop when your desired volume is reached.

5. Cup Warmer:

The heated metal plate on top of the machine can preheat two coffee cups simultaneously. Ensure cups are completely dry before placing them on the warmer.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning:

2. Descaling:

Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain optimal machine performance. The machine will indicate when descaling is needed. Refer to the user manual for detailed descaling instructions.

  1. Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (e.g., water and white vinegar, or a commercial descaling agent) according to the solution's instructions.
  2. Place a large container under the portafilter and steam wand.
  3. Press the DESCALE button on the touchscreen to start the descaling cycle. The machine will run the solution through the system.
  4. Once the cycle is complete, empty the water tank and rinse it thoroughly.
  5. Fill the water tank with fresh water and run two full cycles to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
