  3. Water Connections: Connect the inlet and outlet water pipes (1/2" NPT) to the unit. Ensure sealing rings are properly placed and connections are tight.
  4. Electrical Connections: CAUTION: Ensure power is OFF before connecting wires. Connect the 8 AWG wires to the appropriate terminals (L1, L2, Ground) within the unit and to the 50 Amp two-pole breaker in your electrical panel.
  5. Water Line Air Purge: Before powering on, open a hot water faucet to purge all air from the water lines. This prevents dry-heating damage.
  6. Power On: Once water lines are purged and all connections are secure, turn on the circuit breaker.

7.1 Safety Thermal Cut-off Reset Instructions

Warning: Please ensure to operate under power-off conditions.

  1. Remove the outer shell: Carefully detach the front cover of the water heater.
  2. Locate the safety thermal cut-off: Identify the reset button, typically a small red button, on the internal components.
  3. Press the reset button with a screwdriver: Gently press the button until it clicks.
  4. Install the outer shell: Reattach the front cover securely.

To determine if the safety thermal cut-off has tripped, check if the display screen shows nothing, if the municipal power supply is normal (test other appliances), and if the circuit breaker connected to the water heater has not tripped. If these conditions are met, the product limiter may have tripped.

Four-step diagram showing how to reset the safety thermal cut-off: 1. Remove outer shell, 2. Locate thermal cut-off, 3. Press reset button with screwdriver, 4. Install outer shell.
