1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your MAIWO 4 Bay HDD RAID Enclosure. This device is designed to house up to four 3.5-inch SATA hard disk drives, offering various RAID configurations for data storage, backup, and management. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper functionality and safety.

2. Safety Information

• Ensure the enclosure is placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent accidental falls.
• Do not expose the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.

4. Product Overview

The MAIWO 4 Bay HDD RAID Enclosure features a robust aluminum alloy and ABS construction, designed for efficient heat dissipation and durability. It supports up to four 3.5-inch SATA HDDs, offering a maximum capacity of 96TB (with four 24TB drives).

Front Panel Indicators:

• HDD1-HDD4 Indicators: Blue LEDs that illuminate to indicate drive activity and status.

Rear Panel Ports and Controls:

• RAID Reset Button: Used to reset RAID configurations.
• RAID Setting Dip Switches (1-4): Used to select the desired RAID mode.
• Fan Switch: Controls the cooling fan operation (On/Off).
• Power Port (DC 12V): Connects to the external power adapter.
• Type-C Port (USB 3.0): Connects to your computer for data transfer.

5. Setup

5.1 Hard Drive Installation

The enclosure supports 3.5-inch SATA I/II/III hard drives. Follow these steps to install your drives:

1. Ensure the enclosure is powered off and disconnected from any computer.
2. Gently slide out the internal drive trays from the enclosure.
3. Place a 3.5-inch SATA HDD into each tray, aligning the screw holes.
4. Secure each HDD to its tray using the provided screws and screwdriver.
5. Carefully slide the loaded trays back into the enclosure until they are firmly seated. Ensure the SATA connectors align properly.

5.2 Connecting to a Computer

1. Connect the provided power adapter to the DC 12V power port on the rear of the enclosure and then plug it into a power outlet.
2. Use either the USB-A to USB-C cable or the USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the enclosure's Type-C port to your computer's USB port.
3. Turn on the power switch on the rear of the enclosure. The HDD indicator LEDs will light up.

5.3 RAID Configuration

The MAIWO 4 Bay HDD RAID Enclosure supports multiple RAID modes. Before configuring RAID, ensure all drives are unformatted and contain no important data, as RAID setup will erase all data on the drives.

1. With the enclosure powered off, use a small tool (like the provided screwdriver) to adjust the RAID Setting Dip Switches on the rear panel to your desired RAID mode. Refer to the RAID Mode Table below.
2. Press and hold the RAID Reset button for 5 seconds.
3. Power on the enclosure. The new RAID configuration will be applied.
4. Connect the enclosure to your computer. You may need to initialize and format the new volume in your operating system's Disk Management utility.

Important: Changing RAID modes will erase all data on the drives. Back up any critical data before making changes.

6. Operating

6.1 Basic Operation

Once connected and configured, the enclosure will appear as an external drive or drives on your computer. You can then use it like any other storage device for saving, accessing, and managing files.

6.2 Data Transfer

The enclosure utilizes a USB 3.0 Type-C interface, supporting data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. This allows for rapid transfer of large files, such as 1GB in approximately 2 seconds under optimal conditions.

6.3 Fan Control

The enclosure includes two built-in cooling fans to maintain optimal operating temperatures for your hard drives. The fan operation can be controlled via the fan switch on the rear panel (On/Off).

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, regularly clean the exterior of the enclosure with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents. Ensure the ventilation holes are free from dust and obstructions.

7.2 Fan Maintenance

Periodically check the cooling fans for dust accumulation. If necessary, use compressed air to gently clear dust from the fan blades and vents. Do not attempt to disassemble the fans.

MAIWO provides a warranty for this product. Please review the following terms:

• Shipment received with visible damages must be reported within three (3) calendar days of the delivery date.
• All returns with missing parts (including accessories, manuals, warranty registration cards, original manufacturer packing materials, and retail packaging) will not be processed until the missing part is received.
• The customer is responsible for return shipping expenses and restocking fees unless explicitly stated otherwise. Replacements will be shipped at MAIWO's expense.
• Customers must ship return products with sufficient packaging to prevent physical damage during transit. Any loss or damage due to insufficient packaging may result in the return being rejected or charges applied to the refund.
• Upon acceptance of merchandise in like-new condition, the purchase price will be credited to the original payment method.
• Refunds will be issued after the warehouse receives, inspects, and processes your return.
