Operating Your Philips Hue System
Light Control
- Color and Ambiance: Use the Philips Hue app to select from 16 million colors and various shades of white light (warm-to-cool) to create desired ambiances.
- Brightness: Adjust the brightness of your bulbs, which can reach up to 1100 lumens, and utilize deep dimming features.
- Scenes and Routines: Create and save custom lighting scenes within the app. Set up routines and automations to schedule lights to turn on/off, change color, or adjust brightness based on time or other triggers. The Bridge Pro supports up to 500 scenes.

MotionAware™ Technology
The Hue Bridge Pro features MotionAware™ technology, which allows your lights to act as motion sensors. With at least three Hue devices in a room, the system can detect movement by analyzing Zigbee signal changes. This enables lights to turn on automatically when presence is detected and off when a room is vacant, without requiring separate motion sensors.

Remote Control and Security
Once connected to the internet, your Hue system can be controlled remotely from anywhere using the Philips Hue app. The Bridge Pro also offers enhanced security features to protect your data and prevent unauthorized access.

Troubleshooting
- Migration Issues from Older Bridge: If migrating from an older Hue Bridge, ensure all lights and accessories are properly transferred. If some devices do not transfer, try deleting them from the app and re-adding them using their QR code or serial number. Contact Philips Hue support if issues persist.
- HomeKit Reconnection: After migrating to a new Bridge Pro, you may need to reconnect Apple HomeKit through the Hue app. This might reset some HomeKit settings, but room and light names should generally be retained, simplifying the re-assignment process. It is recommended to complete the Bridge migration before reconfiguring HomeKit.
- Light Flickering: If lights flicker, especially when using a dimmer, ensure that any existing wall dimmer switches are set to the 'on' position and are compatible with smart bulbs. Incompatible switches can cause operational issues. Adjusting the dimmer or switching scenes within the app may also help.
- Bulbs Not Responding: Check if the bulbs are powered on and securely screwed into their sockets. Ensure the Hue Bridge Pro is connected to your network and powered on. Try restarting the Hue Bridge Pro and the Philips Hue app.
