1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for assistance.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • A minimum water level of 35 cups is required for operation.

4. Setup Guide

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the urn body, lid, percolator tube, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Assemble Percolator Tube: Insert the percolator tube into the center of the urn base.
  4. Place Filter Basket: Position the filter basket over the percolator tube.
  5. Add Water: Fill the urn with cold water to the desired level, observing the internal 'MIN' and 'FULL' markings. Ensure the water level is at least 35 cups (minimum required for operation).
  6. Add Coffee Grounds: For coffee, add desired amount of ground coffee to the filter basket. No paper filters are required. For hot water only, skip this step.
  7. Secure Lid: Place the lid on the urn and twist the handles to lock it securely in place.
  8. Position: Place the urn on a stable, heat-resistant surface near a power outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Brewing Coffee / Heating Water

  1. Plug In: Plug the power cord into a standard 110-120V AC outlet.
  2. Turn On: Flip the On/Off switch to the 'On' position. The red 'Heating' indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Brewing/Heating Cycle: The appliance will begin heating the water. For coffee, water will percolate through the grounds. This process typically takes 30-40 minutes for a full 6L capacity.
  4. Keep Warm: Once brewing/heating is complete, the red 'Heating' light will turn off, and the orange 'Keep Warm' light will illuminate, indicating the beverage is ready and being maintained at serving temperature.

5.2 Dispensing Beverage

  • Single Serve: Place a cup under the spigot. Press the spigot lever down to dispense. Release the lever to stop.
  • Continuous Flow: Lift the spigot lever upwards until it locks into place for continuous dispensing. Push the lever down to release and stop the flow.

6. Maintenance & Cleaning

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove Components: Unlock and remove the lid, filter basket, and percolator tube.
  3. Discard Grounds: Empty used coffee grounds from the filter basket.
  4. Wash Parts: Wash the lid, percolator tube, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. These components are dishwasher safe.
  5. Clean Urn Interior: Wipe the interior of the urn with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
  6. Clean Urn Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the urn body in water.
  7. Descale (Periodically): Depending on water hardness, descale the urn every 1-3 months. Fill the urn with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Turn on and let it heat for 30 minutes (do not brew coffee). Turn off, unplug, and let it sit for an hour. Drain and rinse thoroughly several times.
